As regards practice on other parts of the track:

We have a pencil booking for the 0.5 km track on Sunday afternoon.



Just to give you an idea of the scale of this shorter track, the bottom right hand corner of the small circuit is in the picture above.
The pic below shows the clubhouse where hot, long-stewed coffee is available.



The practice area can be set up on this left hand corner (top picture), or even on the straight in front of the clubhouse if absolute flat is preferred for improving your pump (above right).
The foreground track of the top image will be the location for the two start ramps, with racing heading off to the left of the picture using the same slope as featured in Munchh's 'The Cracklin' video here:

Here's the gen on couse setup:

Cone spacing can vary according to wind direction and variable conditions on the day - in other words, if the wind is behind you then speed is increased with the corresponding increase in cone distance. Similarly, if the track is greasy then the offsets will be reduced and spacing increased.

As a rule of thumb, six foot straight is pretty good for flat, with seven foot straight if there is a slight incline. Offsets might occur at 10 foot spacing with the offset being up to three feet, but typically less.

But then again, distances are also changeable according to the course setter. The usual setter, Mick Reiss, is away for this event. I'll try and rope in Pavel skateboards new signing, Louis Selby, to put up something interesting.

There will probably be around forty cones altogether.

What we are hoping to run is a dual head to head on the regular course (same as is on Munchhh's video on the sign up) that will continue for the full time period.

Louis will be setting the course to be quite open but still exciting. This should reduce cone penalties and speed up the racing.

Once qualifying is over (two runs each - fastest time counts) then one timer can be moved over to the zig-zag section on which will be run a Top-Gear style single lane jam format. This will have to be self-policed, but should be pretty good now that a leader board is available.

And if it rains then we hire mountain bikes from the centre and sort out the results in a cross-country mudfest.
