Mad Cow StreetBoarder X # 8
Zürich in front of the "Obergericht" ( CH )
The original boardercross for skaters since 1998

Zurich, 21 August 2005

On Sunday August 21, mad cow streetboarder X is taking fearless skateboarders and the ones who like to watch them to the streets for the eighth time. In heats of four they thunder down a short downhill obstacle course. The first two are qualified directly for the next round. The third rider at the finish line gets another chance in the loser-round. The last one is out.

A parking lot in the middle of Zurich, in front of the state courthouse is going to be turned into the skaters' battleground. Steep turns, hoops and other obstacles will be set up. There is a junior's-, a women's and a men's bracket. Local Chris Hart (Airflow Skateboards) is trying to take revenge for last year's defeat against Simon Axmann from Stuttgart. Another local, Nastasja Wolfensberger (Airflow Skateboards) defends her title against Noemi Reichel (Indiana Skateboards).

Hummm I'd like to test this kind of race!!!

(but we have a french cup race the same week end: long Super G and DH race - in the South of Alps in Ceuze
but Ramon I'll be in Zurich next week end. Is it a good idea that I bring a slalom board to join a session? Or is there a bowl or something like that for my pool board?)

For this kind of racing you can take your slalomboard along but you can also ride a poolboard if you want to. (I would recommend to bring both because we've got an indoor bowl somewhere in a town not far away from Zurich...)

I wish we could put together a race like this in Paris. That would be awesome. Anyone interested in working on it?

Is that to bring the modules or to bring all the riders? How about both?

Actually, if we could use the same modules I guess that would save a lot of energy (and maybe even money, although the transport is not free).

Hmm, what's the criteria for a suitable street?
Slope?
Length?
Width?

I should call Chris Hart and learn more about this kind of racing!

PS. Any interest from the French riders?

It was one of the project that ever been talked about for Riderz (the association) in 2006, but nothing precise finally, just the idea.
But we can try if we can think about that more seriously, there will be a meeting, probably in september, to set up out new goals...

I'm sorry guys,

the Madcow Streetboarder-X is cancelled because of the (really) bad weather forecast for this weekend. There won't be any Madcow this year at all.
