Trackmate does it have beeps?

Can the 2003-vintage Trackmate timer do a "beep" start cadence of any kind? Or does it only record the times? It's a black box with two red buttons on the top and one sliding black On/Off switch on the side, and it has two "phone jack"-style connections. I'm taking this timer to the Chicago race this weekend and it would be helpful to know if it has that capability. Any current or former owners know the answer?

Beeps should be OK, you just won't have any pc connection. I've never seen one without beeps, but if you only have two connectors you may have a problem. Normally you should have three (start/stop/sound).

JBH,

I don't think so. If all it has are two phone jacks then there's no output for sound. All is has is input for L/R lanes.

My Trakmate is 2006 and it has a 25-pin connection for sound. Dan shipped a PIN/sound jack converter. (Mine does three tones and a long start tone.) I don't know if Dan had a different sound output port before my model.

I don't know what mine will do with PC connectivity. I've never tried or played with it.

Here's the pics of my model:

Thanks, guys. I'm afraid this one only has the two phone jacks. There doesn't seem to be any sound connector. I guess we'll just have to make our own "beeps," a.k.a. "3-2-1-go!"

I can't remember if that TrakMate has a PROGRAM 2 on it or not. If it does then the timing table starts both clocks by pushing a button. It's up to the fastest guy on the course to get to the bottom and turn his clock off first.

If there's only PROGRAM ONE or no option at all then every race is just like qualifying. And yes, some prick (who, me?) can stand there and wait for the other guy to finish before even starting.

We had some fun with that at the Park & Ride. Used to really piss off Parsons to no end.

Yeah, this one has the "Gatorade bottle" push-button start option, so we can use that if we have to.

Did Sidlo ever find the Freak Bros. timer? Something about it being lost in the rubble of a renovation?

I heard Sidlo took the circuit board out of it and MacGyver'ed it into a perpetual-motion machine--some sort of tinfoil pyramid. The physics journals are all abuzz...
