Avalons In Only TWO Duros?

Post by Wesley Tucker » Mon Oct 15, 2007 3:19 pm

I looked at the Geoskate website today for the first time in a few months and I noticed there are only TWO Avalons now available: 76 and 80a.

No more 82s or 85s?

What's the philosophy behind this? All I can imagine is if someone wants a harder wheel they should ride Hot Spots or Avilas. Nothing in between.

Oh, well. Good thing I got a few when I did.

Yeah, I've also noticed that. None of the duros I normally use are no longer available through geoskate.com.

Just today I made a wheel chart of this season. Have a look:

Well, I bought a BUNCH of 80A and 82A TRIMMED Avalons when Radikal put them on sale last year. I'm not going to run out of wheels any time soon.

I just always thought Avalons were the most popular wheel out there and assumed variable Duros would be available.

Maybe Dan's sale figures show different?

Our working theory has been that anyone who wants an Avalon harder than 80A is probably better off using a Hot Spot. The Hot Spot is essentially an evolution on the idea of a trimmed Avalon (as well as a primary inspiration for other wheels on the market).

Nonetheless, we're about to introduce Avalons in 84A bright blue.

The Hot Spots are available in translucent sky blue 76A, white 80A, orange 84A, and yellow 86A.
