Limitied entry races

Riders, please note that your ranking position of 2014 will be used for this selection. Better get your points together to qualify.
What is the cut off for racers limit? I take it it is either 32 or 64?
As Luck would have it . . .

Marcos,

As we have several categories, it will not go as high a 64, and maybe not even 32, in a particular category. Also more Pros will certainly be selected, than women, juniors, masters. But it's more complex than that. The algorithm developed by Corky for the "Pro" Euros 2014 takes into account various parameters, these are some examples:

- Ranking position the year before
- Previous titles (Worlds, Euros...)
- Previous Main placings (top 3)

It all builds into one list out of which the top XX gets first chance to register for a limited-class event. Then after a set time, if the event is not filled up, the list opens up to the next group on the list.

That sounds like a good Idea, with changing sizes of classes and all, plus having a set critical mass for organizers will help. It will be good to see the algorithm in action.

For those who follow the forum updates might remember this post. ;-)

Limited Entry

It explains it all.

There are three complete limitation rankings for 2013 created for PRO, AM and Women. You can have a look at them in action on the rankings page.

You may filter the limitation rankings on Country or Region since you can set the limitation for an event with this as base also. For example if you have an event that is mainly of interest for the country you can set limit per country. Same for Region. It does not mean that only those from that country or region can enter. It is just to make the limitation more appropriate for the specific event audience. One could imagine all events wanting limitations will do it on country or region. Only the Worlds would be logic to have limitation with no filtering as base.
