Dear Glenn. In the light of the recent events and discussions I have tried my best to clean up my image and adjust my on and off-line behavior to better fit into the slalom community. This is the best I can do.

Vlad, I have tried to tell you it's the wrong slalom community you are trying to fit into. The avatar says it all.

Topic naming seems to correlate with beer consumption Image

There are straight slalom courses and there are not so straight slalom courses (called "special" in EU...and maybe not for nothing).

It's hard to fit with the missfits. Image

I renamed this topic because I'm sure it will now get more attention now. That's what it's all about is it not?

I'm not homophobic henry j.. My wife and I have a few very good friends that are gay. Do what you like. Don't take it too seriously.

But I saw that picture of Vlad and it gave me a good laugh. Vlad's a good sport. It's all cool. I think it's all in fun. He may be poking fun at something in particular, I don't know.

There are a few other pictures that could fit in here. One of Olson in a tutu and one of henry j. in a dress. Can you think of any others?

I had a good time in LA.

The Pink Theme I got from Olson at Breck last year. He was wearing his Black Leather Racing shirt...but it was his pink shirt (the one that he's pictured in a full body carve in the current issue of the Juice Mag) is the killer that got me thinking PINK. oLsOn don't know about it. And he doesn't havetah.

Jeff Goat is the master of the Pink. He outpinked everyone in Mississippi.

PS. Special Slalom should be called Fabulous Slalom.

I was at the ASR show in San Diego hanging out in the DogTown booth with Jim Muir, Jay Adams, Jeff Ho to name a few. This guy comes up and was handing out free tee shirts. His last shirt was bright pink. Nobody wanted it then, Wee Man from MTV , Dogtown Skates grabs it and yells !!! PINK IS PUNK...... who knew.

Ok Erika, here's some math for you:

+10 skateboard style points

-7 dress style points for using a manly color

______________________
Bottom line +3 style points

Pink is becoming a more and more manly color. I remember last year when I would wear pink I'd be made fun of like none other. Back then, wearing pink was the manliest thing you could do. Now guys wearing pink is all over the place and I don't get credited with starting the fad. :(

Jeff your race in St Louis definately had the best racing surface. At G4 everyone kept asking if you were throwing a race this year.? You and the St Louis Daggers are some of the coolest dudes out there and dam good slalom riders. I wouldn't have to be 100 cones, maybe 80 cones. Tower Grove Park ROCKED!!!!!! A professional researcher lives deep within me. It feeds on analysis, observations and predictions. I'm happy when I'm wrong. Because it's borring to be right all the time. I can "read" you a lecture on PINK in the US and world culture. Instead, save some time and see the best selling movie of all times, Greese, that was recently sold to most US theaters again. It's the early 1980s recreation of the 1960s. A borring cheezy musical, but a great historical movie.

After you're done with the movie, visit www.hottopic.com and enter the word "pink" in the search window. Browse through all 17 pages carefully; try not to miss the hot color or the season. Hint. It's starts with PI and ends with NK.

Smart people in the free markets make $$ when they are able to quickly recognize, follow and capitalize on a trend. Smart bastards make the trends and make even more $$. Those who observe, analize and predict don't make shit unless they work for the smart bastards.

PS. Jeff, I'm sorry, we're late. Gays will only wear pink when everyone's wearing black. Therefore, you're a punk and not a faggot.

There's a lot more little girls that wear thongs than kids that bring weapons to school. It's unbelievable how skanky girls are dressing these days...

I wore Pink Pants (I bleached gap khakis by accident= pink pants) on the plane to La Costa 2002- caught me a 23 year old Canadian equestrian girl on the plane and took her for the weekend of racing- they've been called lucky pants. Though I like to think I got lucky DESPITE wearing pink pants, even though they are disarming.

She said- "I saw you and you were wearing Pink Pants- I thought he must be confident to do that, I wanted to know more about you."

I'll never be able to figure out exactly what women are thinking.

I'm back from the Paris Frequency. Now tuning in on SS again.

Steve's arm is not red. Actually it's a red net tissue or something like that. You know the kind of material you see on certain ladies legs in certain spectacles in the 1930's. ;-) Olson is always way ahead of everyone when it comes to these things. Pink is so last month.

Re: Is Slalom PINK?

Post by John Gilmour » Thu Mar 06, 2014 7:08 pm

Some of the better gripping wheels might be pink.

Is slalom gay?

Well Putin allowed slalom (snowboard and skiing) in Sochi, so it wasn't officially gay to the Russians.

Inline skating- that shot was me- showing that compared to skateboarding , rollerblading might be compared like hockey's sissy figure skating sister . So I figured if I was going to compete in a glamourous event- I had better dress the part

I put in an absolutely flawless blisteringly fast practice one footed, unbeatable, ......and the French Committee National du Skate promptly cancelled the event before qualifiers.

Slalom isn't a a sport that identifies with Hetero dominance like American football once did.

However coed tandem slalom might be interesting, and very popular in getting new recruits. Particularly in mixed goofy regular.
