ISSA - International Slalom Skateboarding Association

I recieved my Insect GS City Bomber this week. Steve Hopper did a great job on designing this board. I first tried this board at G4 Vlad was kind enough to let me ride his board. I was stoked after riding it. As soon as I got home I emailed Steve and let him know I wanted one. The board is a stiff flex, the camber is perfect. I set the board up with Tracker RT-S front Bones Blue bushings and RT-X back with a Radikal clear bushing and a bones blue. 3DM Avalons 86 duro Mango front and Avalon 78 duro blueberry in the back. Oust Moc 9s bearings. This board can be pumped effortlessly. This board is one of my favorite rides. Check it out dudes. Eddy Texas Outlaws

TANGENT:Remember how much fun it was to pump around on the (old) Z-Flex fiberglass rocker boards? [...if you had one or can remember]

Maybe make that board a tad wider, more tail and nose, turn it upside down...

I think that is what I would like, a flat "kick" from the rocker. The new metal Seismics would replace my split axle Gullwings.

Funny you should say this! There have been quite a few requests for a rockered board in this size (roughly). No promises, but if the interest level is there, it <i>could</i> become a reality.

I don't want to start an online discussion as a rockered Insect board doesn't yet exist, but anyone interested can <a href="mailto:steve@insectskateboards.com">email their thoughts</a> on the subject.

Am I reading correctly that the smallest deck has a 25" wheelbase? They sure look nice but I'm wondering if that's too big a step up from my 20"(?) wheelbase on my turner gs/hybrid that has been my first and only slalom deck so far. Any feedback on that guys? Heck, maybe I should just get the Dragonfly and consider it my "longboard"...

p.s. Steve, if I weigh 150lbs. shoud I request a lighter flex or is the standard ok for that weight?

Stealing your sister's Dragonfly is the only reasonable course of action in this situation! How's the custom Unlimited working out for you?

Yes. The Insect GS wheelbase is just a hair under 25" (inner hole to inner hole). That makes it 27.25" axle to axle with Seismics. It's certainly a much longer wheelbase than your Turner, but as you can see on this forum, it's a pumping machine.

If you want to try one out, we'll build it to your weight. At 150lbs, I'd recommend a softer flex. Let me know and we'll work out the details. But the Dragonfly does make an excellent pumping longboard. It can also be drilled for D.C. Outlaw Longboard Slalom competition if that turns your crank.

The unlimited was alittle soft so its my sisters now. But gareth let me try out on of his unlimiteds which i rode yesterday and it very nice.
