Afi,
Right now Turner SummerSki is not being manufactured. In 2004 the production was transferred from Southern California to England and France. Several boards were made and were of the highest quality but changes in preferences for board design and materials led to Turner just not being able to keep up. Turners are not convave, no kicktail and never with a mild camber, flat or convex as most racing boards are today.
At the time when things ended there were FOUR model available:
1. The Full Nose
2. The Cutaway (sometimes called a "needlenose.')
3. The Eurofighter (a more contemporary board for tight and hybrid slalom)
4. The Downhill Gun (a 44" custom flex downhill board.)
The Full Nose, Cutaway and Gun were comprised of three materials - fiberglass, a shaped high-density foam core and epoxy resin for a binder. These boards were made with a "high cap" construction with glas applied flat to the bottom and then wrapped over the top and around the bottom layer of glas. Then the excess is trimmed and a high-gloss finish is applied. I believe but am not certain the Eurofighter was a more standard vacuum-bag process with the board flat on top and rounded on the bottom.
There's been some misconception over the years about the two traditional standard shapes, the Full Nose and Cutaway. It became a bit of a myth than Full Noses were for surf stance and Cutaway for parallels. This was not what Bobby Turner intended and not the practice of the Turner team riders in the '70s. The Full Nose was intended to be a more stable GS board while the cutaway was for tight and hybrid. The two most well-known proponents of Turner SummerSki, surf stance Tommy Ryan and parallel stance Bobby Piercy, had both designs in their quiver and rode what was considered the more applicable board for a given course.
One other variable about the Turner SummerSki is important to know. It was a VERY HIGH cambered board. If you sat a deck flat on the table the apex was as much as .17 cm high. I don't know of a board made today to match this much "hump" on a board. The flex, though, was custom to a rider's weight and preference. Bobby Turner was a master of knowing how to build a board to give the preferred flex to a given weight. A "stiff" flex for a rider weighing 160 pounds would be a "soft" flex for a rider weighing in at 220 pounds. So when Bobby took an order he would ask what flex and what weight? He would then lay up a board matching that preference to that. Consequently, few boards were ever exactly the same. He mass produced boards one at a time by hand. Very impressive work. This variability is important because a rider may like the same shape but different flexes for different courses. Bobby could ensure the buyer got the board wanted at the specification desired without a "three options fit all" kind of attitude.
Whether or not the new managment in Europe was producing to the same standards I don't know. I bought one board from them (the Gun) and am very satisfied. I saw a Eurofighter soon after its introduction and a couple of cutaways but do not know their ride characteristics as I never got on one and rode it. Wish I could tell you more.

Afi,
Turners are great collection items, but as Donald says new boards w/ concave and tail are much more functional and allow you to be much faster.
If you want one, sometimes you can find them in ebay but they sell quickly.
Ps: Mig=Fullbag; Richy=Axe/sk8kings. Donald also makes great boards (Pavel) . Additionally, 161 (Sweden), Blackcross (france), Airflow (Switzerland) and many more (check board section in this forum)-

For a short while in '02 and '03 Turner made the composite boards in San Diego. It's a long story but suffice it to say those board are no longer being made and were never part of the deal when Turners were made in Europe.

Contact CHIxILL or Pocket Pistol. CFav or Chicken have what you want. The Brazilians are doing really well on their CHIxILL boards and Chicken at Pocket Pistol can lay up anything you want in either hard wood or glas/foam combinations.afi saiful wrote:hohoho...i live in egypt...i just want the board as a collection item
