New to Amsterdam

Post by Vladimir Lopatin » Wed Mar 12, 2008 4:11 pm

Hey, folks

I have just arrived in Amsterdam a week ago. I've been previously riding with Vlad Popov in Moscow, PhD. I am really looking forward to slalom with the local community. However "Floriade" or "Harlem Ikea" doesn't speak much to me. Could somebody tell the exact address of these places or how best to reach them, or maybe there's some meeting places where everybody is moving from together?

I currently reside in Pipe, so if you feel like having a beer or 2 somewhere around - please let me know.

Looking forward to your feedback,
Vlad

Hey Silvio,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I am not that good in Dutch so far to understand much what's going on in the local forum, even the registration is a bit tricky, apparently asking for some extra letter confirmation to prove that I am not a spam bot, and it's all in Dutch! =)

So, if, by any chance, somebody from the local community is reading this - could you direct me to the closest meeting place? Like when it's going to take place, at Ikea parking garage for example, anything necessary that I should know. What about this weekend?

Thanks,
Vlad

In the local forum ( http://www.longboarden.nl/forum/viewforum.php?f=18 )you can write in English - everybody speaks good English in Holland!

Otherwise just post a message to these guys:

Strange that they didn't contact you yet ... maybe it is vacation period??

Ciao

Hi Vladimir,

WELCOME to ASTERDAM!!

Yes of course you can join us. We normally skate on Sundays but during the spring and summer months also in the evening.
Keep on checking the NL ISSA because we always post the location of the training sessions here.
We are also traveling to Dusseldorf and to Paris for the contests there so maybe you want to join us.

We will keep in touch.

Vladimir,

Welcome.
I look forward meeting you and skate together.
Usually I pick up Flavio when nwe go to the Floriade. So an extra stop is not that much effort.
As Flavio already wrote, we allways post in this forum when and where we meet.
See for instance the discussion about our trip to Paris in May.

Cyril
I'd rather spend my time between

Oh, thanks for all your replies, riders

I am definitely going to free up this Sunday (or whatever the day you choose) from any plans to do some skating. That would be wonderful!

Cyril thank you for your proposition to pick me up as well, if you think it is fine for you, - just tell me where I should get to be the least of a hassle to you - I'll get right there.

Cheers,
Vlad
