Am and pro: two DIFFERENT COURSES

Post by Stefano Bellingeri » Tue Sep 16, 2008 4:53 pm

Hi everybody,
It is my personal opinion that if we decided to have two distinct cathegories then we need two different courses: one easier for Am and one really technical for Pro.
In my opinion it is necessary to have two cathegories, so we MUST have two different courses: always.

stefano
i think that depends on the quality of the course.
we set a hybrid in amsterdam which was challenging for both classes.
same happened in brixlegg.
if i remember correctly gburg had the same thing, correct me if i'm wrong
same goes for some gs courses too.

This is a good idea (to have different courses for Pro/AM/Jr/Women/Masters)
A) If needed (e.g. If there is a huge skill difference)
B) If the contest director so chooses

But I do not think it belongs in the rule book

I would like to apply this sort of rule only to Special TS and Straight TS. This makes sense since Pros are (or should be) technically more skilled / practised.

Whatever else type of course may be the same in all categories.
Feel the flow – Airflow Skateboards

Real skateboard wheels come in green – ABEC11

Enjoy the ride – GOG Slalom & DH Trucks

I would like to apply it even to giant but may be it would to much time consuming for the organizers. For sure on special and tight.
