I gotta ask: did you ever ride Turner's Eurofighter? And if so does this board perform similarly?

I swear that looks so much like the board Bara and Drayton were riding.

(I'm not implying that's a bad thing. The EF was a great board that went away all too soon.)

Its a different shape and construction, with concave, .so no need for ugly foam pads. No wheel wells.In fact, looking at a Eurofighter its totally different in the flesh. Remarkably so.

The tail has an ever so slight rear riser built in underneath, not to the flat level, so aesthetics are good, and hopefully this shot may make things clearer.

The kick is 'just right' for my style, (such that it is) so doenst tip you forward when exiting a ramp as the steeper kicked decks can do. By steep, I mean anything steeper than a Pirnack or similar.

Weight. exactly the same as my Pavel Pirnack.

Length is 32" we have a 36" prototype coming.
Width is 7 3/4" at wide points, we have an 8 3/4" prototype coming.
Angle is 9 degrees on the new mold, with kick starting at front holes of rear truck.
Inside is cheese. Or foam.

Meanwhile, nice deck. The front foot shaping and width is very nice. A deck of this length shows surprisingly minor flex and was easy to peg it through 5'4" spacings. Theres a comfortable dampening effect through the board from the ground surface which I feel seems better than the usual wood decks. With the aimed kicktail adjustment I get it.
All in all for sure there's something of a quality feel going on here.

beautiful deck and a smart shape Stride.....I can see what Wes is referring to with the Euro comparison too...it's in the contour in the underside rails....very similar to the Euro...makes for very solid construction too...Is this board made in England or is it made by the Frenchies who were doing the Turners/Supaflexes?

The new ones needed a new mould, so expect the tail to rise earlier and be about 9 degrees. Not keen on steep rear kicks that tip up exiting ramps....

So does this mean it does have a little give? I need a board to have a little 'pop'. I don't like when boards are super crazy stiff. Any more information on the feel of the board would be awesome.

They look amazing btw. Nice work.

It has give, but not flop. Its flexy but not bendy, its torsionally rigid, but not a plank. Its the balance we strive for. I hope.

I think modern slalom decks show that a slight flex is a good thing, for most riders. Decks like the Pavel Pirnack would be a supreme example of a stiff deck, with give, with feel. With life. Pretty much the best out there right now.

Ultra stiff decks might as well be made of wood. A good example is the Skaterbuilt Maysey. Lightweight, wood, stiff, took Maysey to a world title. Excellent value too. IMHO all a high tech lightweight stiff deck does is perhaps be quicker off the line in a push start, certainly going lightweight at all costs isnt doing it for me....its nice to say you have the lightest deck as you unpack your board, but then put heavy high end trucks on it....dont get it myself.

Anyone can make the lightest deck in the world....this we have learnt. Donald could, Roe could, Kaliber could, Exsetsett could....BUT as you know its more than that. I think some materials like wood layers have a beneficial effect on feel, and vibration damping. The Octane decks have a nice feel to them, the foam and glass mix seems to give a good ride. In fact we were testing the trucks last week and the riders didnt even mention the deck....it didnt occur to them it was anything other than a production model.

...also, as we all know, bright shiny colours make you 1/2 a second quicker, and riding a slick looking curvy board makes you another second quicker. This is scientific fact. tee hee.

I've been riding prototypes solidly this year, we are having a new mould sorted, and hope to have that tested very soon.

We have something rather special in the works.

You have no idea how happy this makes me I have been looking for a deck for some tight courses, if you do a 8 3/4" wide deck with a nice fat tail (over 8") with a nice short wheelbase for around that price mark, early next year. what kind of wb are we talking here?
