Does anybody know the correct name of my Santa Cruz deck? Looking in 1978 issues of Skateboard magazine I've come to the conclusion that it is a Santa Cruz proflex cutaway. Is this correct?
It is set up with Tracker mids and G&S wonkers. The board to the left is an inverted G&S bowlrider.

You got it.

As far as I know that was SC's only slalom board until Hester defected from G&S. When that happened SC came out with the H-Bomb, Cruz Missile and Hutson's board.

I'm sure I'll get corrected on this if I'm wrong but I believe your board was "just" a maple-glass laminate similar (or maybe identical) to a Fibreflex. It was not "graphite loaded" like the H's signature boards.

Thanks Wesley. Yes, it's just a maple/fibre deck, no graphite.

From this old ad, it's called the Cutaway.

Pierre. That's really appreciated. The drawing of the dog is so '70s. The ad is dated October '76, so the deck could be older than I thought. I don't think many Santa Cruz decks came into the UK until mid-77. The only reference I could find in Skateboard (the UK's major magazine at the time) was a shop advert from 1978, when the John Hutson graphite models were also available.

Did you notice the old SC logo, it's Tony Alva riding a Logan Earth Ski at Kentner banks, funny.

What's funny too is that Tracker logo right next to NHS's name and address... :)
