Welcome to the new PAVEL SKATES forum, which will give you necessary information on the exciting new race line i am putting together with the help of my fellow pro-team-riders, PAUL PRICE and STEPHAN HINZEN.
Some of you, maybe most, will wonder about the strange header to this introductory press release. yeah.. PAVEL has been around in the 80ies, it was the first and biggest independent brand in Germany. After a long hiatus the name resurfaced and the original owner (me) is back on track with a full fledged pool-team presenting some of Europes finest and very popular old sags, waiting to visit your ramp or pool. I, for myself, also have been involved in slalom racing since day one (my day one dates back to 1976), I picked up racing last spring again, as did a few others of my German friends. We all went through the boards during the season, buying this, buying that.
In the end we found out that we were unhappy with most of the stuff being offered for one or another reason. The products are all good stuff, but we wanted something else...
Steve has a surfboard-shaper background and I am deeply involved in board (mould)-construction and finishing. i'm pretty much doing the same here in Germany, Chicken is doing in the US.
During the long and cold winter-months we have been working on several deck designs, featuring:new and improved moulds, vacuforming, blending the best of both worlds, in materials, together.

The results are quite amazing as you will see in the future, here, on this very special site.

Most of the stuff we are doing is custom made at the moment.
We offer full-glass-decks with angled trucks front and rear and a very deep FULL concave to get you on track, when you pump through the course.
We also offer wood/glass hybrids with the same features, flex or no flex-whatever you desire.

The decks will be totally different from anything you've seen yet-we didn't want to copy.

We want to be as original as it gets.
i'll post a few prototype pics during the next week, to wetten your appetite.
Thanks for your interest so far - and...STAY TUNED-SEE YA SOMEWHERE AT THE RACES...

Donald, congratulations on the resurrection of the Pavel brand and on your new team signings. The introduction of a new and determined manufacturer will always make the European scene more lively and competitive.

Please keep the forum informed as to the development of product with special regard to Paul and Stephan's signature models.

Donald, when are we going to see a picture of a Pavel?

Good catch securing Mr Price, one of Englands most consistent slalom racers, well done to Team Pavel.
Are you going to Grunigen this year?

thanks for the props.

we all will do our best to keep the community entertained.be it products or the team.
paul and steve are flowing constantly input into the project.as a matter of fact paul will
change his appearance for this season a bit, since pavel won't be so old-fashioned in appearance as his ex-sponsor used to be.he's gearing up for this season and will be
killing it with new beefed up material and a very strong attitude, you guys can expect the best-as always-from your fellow countryman.
i'm moving my plant to a new location this weekend, inbetween i will post a bit of the prototypes we are riding at the moment.
i wanted to wait a bit more, but hey...what the heck.

i am looking foward to see you all at the races.
michael will get one of the extra stiff all concave/rocka decks the next few weeks.
this is a test deck and maybe you can share during a session.
i would love to hear comments and suggestions.
people such as you make it worth spending/wasting thousands of euros and countless days/nights of production/testing/experimenting.

the new website will launch march 15th:
address is:www.pavel-skates.com

OK...i'm a bit confused........i've been reading the thread,....checked out your Rocka, which i thought was pretty cool being a modern material foam core park board....but the website only shows wood street decks...........is Pavel streetboard company or are you going to offer something different?

(i'm not trying to sound sarcastic, i was just thinking of something along the lines of slalomboard/speedboard ..... or some new shapes in foam......what kind of a company is Pavel going to be?)

No idea why that previous post lists me as "guest"......it's me that's curious

< Ed note. I guess the system bugs every now and then and looses the information on who actually posted. It probably appears when the post is being recorded. I've seen it a couple of times and at times thought I had allowed guest posting.

I reconnected the "Guest" post to you. /Jani >

Donald.. Since the cathaholics have a German Pope ..will Pavel make a Papal Pope Model???

we are in contact with the vatican, but we are told that the whole team is too much antichrist and skating on the edge,so they won't allow us to do it,even though rumors say that pope benedikt is a vert-veteran.

So ..a probable Papal Proto production from post prussia probably presents a problimatic proposition...? I presume?

Donald,
I want to publically thank you again for your support of the 1st Annual Downhillbillies Dixie Cup!

The Custom Pavel DHB deck went to Mike Cividino for his 1st Place Overall Am win!

The Pavel old school deck went to the much deserving fastest junior rider and protege of Kenny Mollica, Ethan White! The kid rips and will be an up and comer in the slalom world very very soon!

Thank you again for everything! The Downhillbillies are proud to support Pavel Skates and the World Championships in Brixlegg!
