bottom washers

Post by Gary Fluitt » Sun Feb 26, 2006 9:32 pm

Wes,
It's a good idea to use a washer down at the bottom if you want the rear steering to be a little more "dead". By eliminating the washer, I find it's a bit more resilient. But not everyone likes a resilient back end (OK, no pun intended). I do not use a washer on the bottom of the front truck either.
I like Ramon's washer idea. No overhang, but a little more base support than no washer.

i love my splitfire rear (107 first gen w/ orion baseplate). the traction is amazing compared to trackers and rads(dragon tail). I have mine dialed in at -5° with lathed radikal bushings (black/green) and flat washern top and large washer on bottom.

hate to burst your bubble luke, but you don't OWN or regularly use a radikal tail (and neither do I), so you can't really offer opinion as to whether or not you prefer it to a splitfire.
