replacable axle?

Post by Lenny Poage » Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:03 pm

Last night my board had an unfortunate run in with a car and the axle on my Airflow is bent. How hard is that to replace/repair or would I be better off buying a new truck?

Thanks.

axles are glued into the hanger.you can unscrew it from the hanger if you have the proper tools.get in touch with chris hart or try sk8kings.
since they sell the trucks they should have spare parts i guess.

Put a nut on the axle. Put on a lock washer. Put on another nut. Tight the two together.

Heat the truck with a blue flame torch. Don't try and melt it but get the aluminum HOT. This will melt the loc-tite. Be careful not to heat the powder coat too much. It's a very delicate balance between enough and too much.

Take a box wrench and turn the INNER nut. That will vice up against the outer nut and the axle will turn instead of the nuts. Once the axle is loose, screw it out.

Get a replacement from Chris, dabble on some Loc-tite and screw in the axle.
