I have the Canadian citizenship but the problem is I wasn't born in Canada... When I crossed the border to go to The Farm, my old passport was expired and I showed my driver's license, my provincial health insurance card and my work ID (I work for the provincial government). But as soon as they asked for my place of birth, things got more complicated... we had to wait for 2 hours while they checked my citizenship and then was told I could get in this time but the next time it wouldn't work unless I show up with a citizenship card or a valid passport...

Ok Farmers...time to get AMPED for our last 2 races. A 2 day event that could be one of the largest outlaw events in the history of the sport...Ok that was a bit over the top...the largest East Coast Outlaw event ever. La Costa back in the day was probably bigger. Anyway, I spoke w/ Eric this evening and he said we should just plan on being out of the dam by 3pm Sat. There's still a possibility we'll be able to stay longer but no need to chance it so....

NEW SATURDAY TIME IS 11-NOON SET-UP & PRACTICE. RACE STARTS PROMTLY @ NOON.

Race will be the best run of however many we can manage. There will be plenty of room for approx. 3 good pushes before entering the course. Speeds will be much faster than our first dam race. The course will be a hybridish GS. Approx. 800 feet.

REMEMBER: This is an outlaw event and there is still a chance we could get the boot. PSR does have a backup location if needed.

As Mr. Carr might say "put another log on the stoke"

Weather looks brilliant. Mild 70's with clear Vermont blue skies.

PS..Bring Firewood.

FYI

Be prepared to bring all that you need to be comfortable. There is a small store 10 miles down the road with limited daytime hours, but it's a half hour to a supermarket.

Also, it should be pretty cool at night 34 Friday, 42 Saturday. Be ready

camping + 2 kids + sub 40 degree weather = me getting 20 minutes sleep and hitting the ground at the race, again. The family and I will be staying at the fancy pants Long Trail House slopeside. I'll be soothing my aches and pains in the hot tub while sipping on only the finest libations and luxuriating to the best of my ability. I will however stop by to toss back a few with you hardcores. Tk and family are staying there too, and I'm told there are still a few rooms left. 802-297-5060 is the reservation line, call soon if interested. Sorry I'll miss the late night falling down, puking and peeing on one's self and others, and all around good times. Someone please remember to fish the Needham Longboard Club out of the river on Sunday Morning.

thanks guys, for all the encouragement and pointers. next thing i have to do is make myself a toestop....a few of my runs i didn't have enough time between my pushes and the line to get my feet right so i was all out of control. maybe a pps wedge kit is also in order

We expect you guys to return the favor. You live in a major tourist destination. Announcing a race date early would allow families to make plans for a vacation with a slalom race as a bonus.

You can expect my help. We can work on the details this winter, but finding a suitable date soon and posting it would be important.

I LOVE hanging out with you guys. I barely missed JF and PG. Amazing what friends i have from this skateboard fad.

What a great weekend! It's so nice to see so many young people out doing this Slalom thingy,LOL. This had to be the event with the most kids under 20 of the year. At least in North America.

I have to say I'm really proud of the Canadian crew that represented. Mig took 8th and 13th. My baby Jasond took a 28th up slithly from the Farm race and took an 11th with a couple of cones down. Wow! He turns 20 on Friday and I may have to stop introdicing him as my baby soon but Vlad reaction on Saturday night was well worth it, LOL.

Rich, Rejean, Danilo and Julie you guys ROCK and make Canada proud. Your scene at home is growing and is getting stronger.

My partner and Girlfriend MB was so great all weekend as usual. Thank you so much!

Now her two little boys who are park rippers with very limited actual Slalom practice did great this weekend. Although Dan did not get a time on Saturday he looked great and kept trying. His style and technique make us all cringe at the future in skating this kids has. I call Dan Sponge cuz I can teach him something fast. Gabriel is "Mr. Smoothie" from now on! He just flows on any type of Skateboard you put under his feet. Gabriel did manage to make both course over the weekend.

Leo, great work on the photo's and I'm sure your vids will be GREAT as well. Some of those shots show the fun and type of enviroment we need to keep nuturing in order for the sport to enjoy the growth it deserves.

To everyone from else you folks are just so great to be with. It's hard to pass up going to races. The events are first rate and you can have so much fun. Thanks again to all of you for being so much fun and getting so many kids involved.

This goes out to all of us older folks who are out there doing it cuz we enjoy it. Keep it up we need to be there to help out the youngs and each other.

Have a safe winter for those I won't see till next season.

Well, here are my words.

First of all i want to give a gazillion thanks to Joe Iacovelli, if it wasnt for him i wouldn't have raced this series. He deserves a special award for bringing new people to the sport, look at marshall he could barely pump the first races now he is really fast. Joe, thank you for being there and for all your support, helping everybody and spreading the slalom seed allover NE. I am so stoked to be here now.

Tway and TK. your efforts are highly appreciated on putting up these races. Tway had a hard time trying to film everybody and skate and run the race at the same time. thats really hard!. TK you were great coaching some of the kids and setting up the courses.

All the wives, moms and other support staff, coneheads kids, without them we couldnt have done it. Thank you!

This last race was the best of the series so far. its all about camping, so those who miss it, come next year and camp!

the canadians are the greatest guys on earth. where can you see on a campsite, omelettes, crepes, french toasts for breakfast and a nice cabernet sauvignon with bread and fromage for dinner and foundue and creme brulees for dessert? all under the stars and the light of a candle! Danilo, Julie, Rejean, Rich and Mig, you guys rock! had so much fun at ur campsite. hope to see u next year. CLaude thanks for making it and heloing everybody at the race. u always will be my slalomdad.

All the guys from Mass. its always nice to skate with u. keep it going!

The rest of you guys who came here, its a pleasure to skate with u guys, i cant wait for next year! damn winter!!!

Don't worry about me Shane, im doing fine, I did go to that hospital, it was quicker than i expected.
The finger is splinted and isnt feeling too bad, im just glad i had my gear on, because i probably would have broken a wrist.
Other than that, thanks for the ride and everything, and even though i broke myself a bit, i still had fun and thats all that really matters.

Glad you are alright and that they didn't keep you too long at the hospital. I'm glad that you enjoyed yourself despite your injury. Let me just say now that you were a model of grace and good cheer in the face of an obviously painful and difficult situation. While this kind of thing by definition is not pleasant, YOU were a pleasure to be around the whole time.

Dan, thank YOU very much. I always have my first aid kit with me, so if I am at a race, so is my kit. Look for me. As a result of all of this, I updated my kit considerably. I added splints and a lot more of everything. I even carry an epi-pen (my son has serious milk allergy), though I doubt any of us have a serious allergy to asphalt... <grin>.

I actually debated bringing my kit that morning. Never again. Justin was not the only one that day ... it also came in handy at the Derby Hill at Da Farm. So that's three times now. I am trying to think of skate specific stuff that would be a good idea to have, any suggestions would be appreciated.

We always welcome new skaters but this race is going have a tough course, it's the whole reason we're doing it is because da farm series, as much fun as it was lacked a good flowing tight course. So if your just starting you might not make the course, but your still welcome to come and meet all the MA slalomers and have some fun.
