Just wanted to say thanks to Chicken for making the fastest wheels around!

They're fast and they grip like nothing else. These are a few of the latest thropies that the wheels made available.

I'm sure it's not only the wheels....

Marcus I saw on the side of your wheels a kind of pimp-my-wheels-duck-tape ?! Is it to prevent your bearings from the dust or to gain speed ???!

I have exactly the same wheels but NO CUP, what's wrong with mine ?

Congrats Marcus !

Fred.

Actually, I gave my board to west side customs and told them to pimp it up. When I got it back they had put a DVD in the rear truck, bounce springs in the front truck and a 15 inch flat screen under the board. It was cool but the TV caught a lot of cones.

So I decided to go with the budget alternative and put some duct tape on as rims. And mostly it was to prevent dust from getting into my bearings. Sneaky I know. But the tape also helped to prevent the hamsters inside from escaping. And its really the hamsters who won the races for me. They are true heroes, what excellent runners they are! As a thank you to them I let them get back to the nature.

Thank you!

Marcus, concrats on your success so far. Well deserved!

btw. I tried hamster-power on my wheels as well but it didn't work. Actually the board went backward. How do you make them know the direction they have to run?

Put the hamsters on the back wheels, and the food on the front wheels.... simple ?!

First 4 hamsters, then 6, ......

If 4 hampsters are acceptable, then what about 6? Every skateboard contest since the creation of the universe has always allowed 6 hampsters (nothing in the rules to prevent more than 4 hampsters). Why would any contest organizer want to inhibit innovation by banning 6 hampsters? It is really simple: Let the hampsters run in what you brung!

Marcus, what durometer and 'vintage' of Manx are you running? I've had a few scary moments, and one Ugly (ugly as in facial stitches, but those add character) crash using these, but I'm thinking I got protos that were not quite what I thought they were? (bought in '04) I can SEE that the wheel has potential, but have been, um, skeptical with my personal experiences. Any info would be appreciated. Oh, and I'm not 'biased' by brandname per say (though I've been dissappointed for 25 years by Krypto), so I'm still quite willing to give Manx their due...

It seems that either its raining all over the world, or we are all forum junkies. Either way this turned out to be a entertaining thread...

No to some answers,
@Don - if Horsti and Lucagioni has not returned yet I'd be careful if I were you. Hamsters on steroids are nothing that you play with, don't close the lamp when you go to sleep and always keep something sharp and heavy within reach.

@Steve - Fred knows more then he pretends to. Six wheels means four hampsters, but also less sole on the breaking shoe. I've seen people not being able to stop at all (I think thats why the ambulance is always at the bottom of the course).

And to be a little serious for a few seconds. I only have 78a and 84a. I put the 78a in the back and the 84a in the front. Its very convinient to not have any choices, you never use the wrong wheels. :)

I bought mine in the fall 2005 and I think they were something that Chicken brought to Sweden during the european championships in July 2005. Don't know what batch that makes, but you probably know.

I sincerly think the manxs are very good wheels, I ran grippins during 2004/2005 and was pretty sure I was gonna win the swedish championships 2005 but didn't stand a chance during the first event, so I bought my manx during the second event and improved 0.4-0.5 seconds right away. Needless to say my grippins are not on my board anymore but work fine under my computer to keep dust from being sucked in.

I haven't tried 3dms since 2003/2004 so I can't say much about them, perhaps they are great. The zig zags I've tried was about the same time wise (we always practice with timer and mostly spray paint the courses so that you can come back and try again), but had a harder sound to it, and not quite the same grip unless you go pink. But thats just my opinion.

I think the wheels have great grip and when the lose grip they slide short and grip right back. The worst thing about them is that they are hard to find...
