what's your GS favorite wheels?

Post by Pierre Hazera » Sat Feb 14, 2009 9:27 am

hey I'm looking for new wheels for my Gs or SuperG setup
I get Axe 3 with speed vent 77mm so I would like to change
and I don't know what should I take.

Big zig, PPS, Orangtang, smaller speed vents?

Pierre I put these 73mm's on at the Dixie cup for the first time and thought they rocked. I ran them in the hybrid too. Very smooth, very sticky, great wheel I think. I ran purples up front and blues in back at the Dixie GS.

I think I've never seen Jason Mitchell on big diameter wheels, I wonder why ?

For the past three years I've run hard Avilas with no issues. Of course part of that is my pump is so weak that I'm not really stressing any traction concerns. I ran those in Colorado, Pump Station, Hobby Park, Center Street Statesville, Bluegill and Shady Lane.

I guess, though, I should strive to get more pump and get those wheels to break more often. Then I'll know it's time to go "down" from the 88s to a softer 84 or 82.

73mm Speed Vents are perfect all around wheels, my favorites!

Pierre,

I got one set of Bennetts, an 84/82 combo. I have not tried them for GS. They are an excellent hybrid wheel, though.

They were used at the Worlds 2008 when Dominik won the GS.

They were used at the Euros 2008 when I won the GS.

They are prototypes.

I did not notice you and Dom used them this summer.
But results seems to show prototypes were good.
do you have an idea when will those come available?
