foot blocks and such-need advice

I am relatively new to slalom here but my question really pertains to longboarding in a way-sorry. I'm looking for help with making a long foam convex rail in the back half of my board so that when rolling my foot over in drifts and deeper carves, i can have something to lock the arch of my foot (heelside) and my toe (toeside) into. as you can see it is sort of a longboarding question because I would be putting this on a longboard, but slalomers will probably know better how to make something like this. any help is greatly appreciated.

Take a look at these wedges that you can lay grip tape over. Will allow for minute corrections in footing on the fly without a "hard stop" like a toe block or rail. Might help you get the freedom you're looking for while riding.

here is a link that shows a slalom deck with this stuff applied (although if I am understanding you correctly you may be applying this somewhere in the median??):

Hope this helps out!

yes thank you I took a look in this thread earlier and at least found out what kind of material would be good to use, but yes you are correct this will be going in the median more like the back of actually a loaded vanguard so as to fit the arch of my foot when it is being rolled forward (back knee down).

that looks like something I could get some use out of yes, and I may pick one up just for the heck of it. what I'm trying to make will be useful for both toe and heelside drifting and carving however. Its hard to just describe stuff like this over the internet but picture like an elongated bulge running from the back truck to just before about the middle of the deck , I think thge new rayne hellcat has something like it but they call it the pleasure dome and it is very long, a generic shape where as mine will be shaped to my own shoe and covering only about a quarter to a third of the deck. no worries the more people reply to this the sicker it will be when complete as I can use a little of each of your ideas. thanks guys

exactly exactly precisely what I was talking about. how did you make yours if you will share your secrets?

It's not mine, but Erik Lundberg's. I'm 99% sure it's made by Sector9 and that it probably will be out soon.

well I don't need the sec 9 so badly as I just need something like whatevers under the grip on it, does anyone have any good ideas of how to make one?
