Landlocked in Las Vegas

Post by Joe Goodwin » Sat Sep 23, 2006 12:55 am

Hi all,

I am a former/newbie Racer with 28+ years worth of rust to shake off. Are there any racers in Las Vegas/Henderson? And would anyone like to get together and run some cones? And maybe travel to races? I am on the westside but Its a small town. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks

Joe,

If you've been around, then you've probably heard of Tommy Ryan? He's in Vegas.

Joe,

I talked to Peggy Turner at La Costa and she said she's talked to Tommy recently. I think the only thing that holds him back is the heat. Finding a time that's decent to set cones and ride without melting into the desert seems to be an issue.

I'll dig around and try and find his e-mail. If I do I'll PM it to you.

If you know Tiger Williams, He can give you my # to pass on. It,s really hard to set a course and run by yourself. Also if you or anyone comes to Vegas look me up, Tiger was saying they were gonna come up here and scout out some hills in Henderson. But I know of some Black Hills type situations in Summerlin. A race here would rock!!! ts starting to cool down anyway the weather man say we are done wuth the triple digits till June.

Thanks
Joe

Tiger INSISTED we qualify together last weekend at La Costa. After the first run he had run .1 faster. Race demands, though, required he drop out. My next run was 15.4, about .7 faster than my first run. Tiger likes to think he would have run .8 faster.

In his dreams!

A Vegas race would be cool. What's really neat about it is that with all the gambling junkets it's cheaper to fly there than it is to drive to North Carolina!

Keep us up to date.

I am so stoked to see Tiger is still racing. We started skating together at the the Spillway near his Moms House in El Monte. When he was 8 years old. Tiger , His brother Brandon and I were on our first Team together. (Corbin Pro Wheels) I did'nt get to see Brandon while was in Encinitas, But next time. Tiger has really carved his nitch in Skating, I used to love skating with Tiger and Brandon, and cant wait to do it again.

Looks like theres no signs of life in Vegas as far as Slalom goe's, I hope I can get in touch with T.R.!

So Far as the race bet we could get one of the big Hotels to Sponser, We have done this before with other kinds of Racing I have done, Go Karts, Stock Cars, They lke to Sponser things. We will see!
Rock on
Joe
