no matter how many times i see that i still remain impressed......but i wonder, how do the wheels roll up that incline? it sorta makes sense but they shouldn't roll up that high, and if you watch teh second tire hit the last one, it still rolls up.......

Just ask yourself one question: is the floor LEVEL?

The more I watch it the more I am convinced the set is built with an incline. Then the camera is adjusted to alter the perspective. The clincher for me is the radiator fan moving across the floor. I just don't think it could generate the thrust to move. But if it's nudged and goes down hill, then everything works.

And the wheels then aren't rolling up such a steep incline, but more of a level track.

.....The sequence where the tires roll up a slope looks particularly impressive but is very simple. Steiner says that there is a weight in each tire and when the tire is knocked, the weight is displaced and in an attempt to rebalance itself, the tire rolls up the slope

actually, it was done in thousands of takes and strung together, and the only computer graphics utilized was to stitch the takes together seamlessly. The guy who did this commerical does tons of installation pieces like this, and its just FREAKING mindblowin.

we are working on a project like this in school....but the goal is to crush a can to 1/3rd its size with only 5 steps.

also..i found out the wheels were weighted
