Post by Chris Hart » Wed Oct 17, 2007 3:36 pm

Looking ahead!!

Last week, we went to the alps (Switzerland) and had a great time with 40 motivated kids, learning slalomskating.

Some nice impressions: http://www.airflow-skateboards.com/presse/fiesch07.mov

Chris,

Great job! Can you tell us a little more? How did you get the kids to come? What did they like/ Not like? What would you do different next time?

Joe

Chris:

Absolutely fantastic!!!

Love the countryside in the background - now that is a place to hang out and run cones.

All the best,

Rob

It is a long story how we get this Slalom coures in the autumn holiday (organised by the city).
Beside many other sportive activities. We construct slalomboards with 40 kids in the morning and learn them how to ride the boards. Construct means, they get already pressed decks and they draw a shape, cut them and create a graphic design. I think it is really important, kids learning also to work with their hands and not only play games on computers.
Airflow is doing this course since 1999, and it is high appeal.
We also organise the Swiss junior championship to get a strong future!!

It would be really cool to see also other countries doing more for the future of this sport.
Kids should not pay any starting fee for races till 16 years.

thanks chris

sorry for my bad english!!
