Anyone remember the Bridge Day slalom races in Fayetteville?

Post by John Dillon » Mon Oct 13, 2008 3:40 am

Of course, thanks to Dave Gale...his races were fun....well, FYI...Bridge Day is this coming Saturday......no slalom race...boo! But I heard Fayetteville is getting a Grindline skatepark that should be breaking ground this month w/plans to be done and open before the end of the year....anyone heard from Dave Gale, lately? I now this should be posted in the southern forum but it's directed to the DC crowd who used to travel to Dave's races. Fun times!

Dave hangs out over on Silverfish. He posts there quite often. His race was the first I ever attended and got me interested in slalom. Can't remember what year it was but the final ended up being John Gilmore against Vlad.

I remember racing in the rain at the insistance of the macho John O'Shei and Paul Dunne cutting divots out of his Avalons to get some grip!
It felt weird for me as Dave told me the KKK were holding a march in the same street in a week's time....

Does anybody have photos or better yet video of the rain race at the Mountain State Slalom and Skateboard Competition?

I've got "Rainy Daze" on a VCR tape. Maybe I could research burning the VCR version to a DVD unless somebody else has Rainy Daze in digital format/

"I remember racing in the rain at the insistance of the macho John O'Shei"

hahahahahaha...

JohnO is in DC for a few weeks and spending time with him is like attending "Machismo Boot Camp"

Today's exercise involves draining an amoeba-shaped permission pool.

Any soldiers wanna join the camp call me at 202-607-1495

Lenny,

Just be sure to keep Dave clear of hot tubs.... he takes "hanging out" a bit to literally sometimes. :-)

Here's a shot down the course in "04"

Race In the Rain

Post by Michel Temoche » Wed Jan 07, 2009 11:53 am

I was there, must've drank a case of Red Bull. Chaput won the race in '02 with a perfectly executed "Criddle". I just posted an Album on FaceBook with pictures. Find me under Abelardo Michel Temoche.

I wasn't there, but I now know many of those who were. So I tagged a bunch of the photos. Only six years ago, but it seems an eternity away....
