I'll be there on Sunday. I'll be going to La Costa to race GS and hopefully rap with some Signal Hill legends. Maybe even get some waves. Also going up north to hit GMR and Baldy. Anyone sticking around after the weekend?

I got to Walker at nine and it had just fiinished raining. Can we skate at walker or is there too many cars in the parking lot on Saturday? Oakwood looks a little scary to me.

Ill talk to my people and see. Can we celebrate our independance by lighting the road on fire and bombing through it? I really want to do that like sergio did in flow except he slid through first to ignite it and hes a beast.....I hope i dont have to go anywhere like a bbq or anything but ill call danny and jimmy and see if they are up for it. I still havent had my board come from Jeff yet but ill set up my tahoe for downhill.

Yeah, so it's 3-5 at Oakwood. We are crazy mofos.

I'll probably chill out / give rides back up the hill until 4 and then ride through the early evening. I hate this weather. I totally dig 36°f compared to it.

There were plans of myself and Anthony Smallwood to skate a parade and watch the fireworks display on the Mall. I’m feeling ill, so won’t be able to make it, but if anyone wants to join Anthony and crew, give him a call.

if you find a place online that sells the 70s reissue alva boards still then you can see a pic. Sorry. I got the leopard print one. If you watch dogtown and z boys you can see a pic of the original a few times.

Adams Morgan race

Post by Anthony Smallwood » Wed Jul 14, 2004 2:49 am

Allright cone-people, who's up for a race on Adams Morgan day? We were planning a small event this year, much like last years race. I'm just not into the effort that it takes to make it world class. That changed today when I received a call from someone affiliated with a major internet provider, who wants to sponsor the race in a big way. I'm not even working with them unless we get a sh!tload of prize money.

Of course we're having downhill and probably a slide contest (farthest, most stylish) and maybe even a "skate jump" if I can get Daryl Freeman to come. He hits punk ramps at 30mph+ with skyhooks and travels a looooooong way. Crowd pleaser I'm sure.
Obviously, we'd want slalom in there also. Any local organizers interested, let me know. We meet with the sponsor on the 19th.

I think adams morgan day is the first weekend of september if i remember what anthony was telling me of past events. Anthony, Me and danny and probably jimmy even would be interested in racing in the downhill race. Can we do it? We got the cujones but what we dont got is leathers and im the only with a fullface but i think danny can get something since hes getting paid now. Help?

A Mo Day

Post by Anthony Smallwood » Wed Jul 14, 2004 4:11 am

Adams Morgan festival is the weekend of Sept. 10-12.

Friday Sept.10th is a big party at a historical mansion for all the riders and festival sponsors
Saturday Sept. 11th is race day
Sunday Sept. 12th is the main festival day. 18th Street shut down for 10 blocks. Food, music and 75,000 people.
We could probably do something skate-related on Sunday as well.

Leathers aren't mandatory but full-face helmets are a must. The riders who ate it last year were glad they were wearing leathers though. I know, I was one of them.

Damn Wesley, you're going to a race that's basically in your backyard as oppossed to driving 500 miles each way? You're getting soft......

Just kidding bro

I don't even know if we'll have slalom as all the local slalomers might be going to Georgia also. I'll have to check the contest calender to see who's signed up. I wouldn't want to draw a conflict of interest or step on any toes.

I did talk to some of the top speedboarders last nite and they're on it.

Of course, if the sponsor doesn't put out, it's a moot point anyway.

Walker Lane is off of Beulah Rd in Alexandria. There is an INOVA Emergency Hospital right there. We set up at the Calibre building. You can take the metro to the Springfield Franconia station (Blue Line) and walk about 1/2 mile or call one of us to pick you up.

Friday nights session will be good.

Awesome. See you guys there.

I'm also looking for an Oakwood session.

Slalom is totally do-able there. I set/rode a course there a couple of weeks ago. With plenty of chalk, the forseeable problems can be worked around.

Saturday looks good. Sunday looks wet.

I just remembered that I am helping with the All-girl longboard session tomorrow evening at 5pm. A Saturday Oakwood session would have to be between morning and 3pm.

Anyone up for it?

If anyone can help out with the All-girl longboards session at 5:30pm tomorrow, that would be apreciated.
