Be there or be square......Eric Moore didin't bring his road weapons for nothing! Who's in? I'll be rolling in after a morning Arlington Skate Park session. Bring cones...we'll need some more cones. I'll bring Mich's timer that lbk had. Practice for Vermont Farm Series Race...theVT race is tentatively June 11 or 12th. Let's do it Outlaws!

I'll be there unless something comes up.

I'd like to attend the Vermont race as well, but they again scheduled it on a day that I can't make (Sunday, June 12). Would be cool if it were either one week before or one week after, and a Saturday would be better in general for people coming all the way from DC.

Vlad, no problem if you can't make it, all you do is make me look slow(er) anyway ;)

Seriously, hope to see you there bro.

Major fun at the P-n-R today.

Vlad left so early he din't even get a time.
WesE set a very nice course, challenging but not impossible for mortals.
Not a real big turnout, but hey, any riding is better than not riding :)

Eric bro, you have gotten MUCH faster since last time I saw you. Too bad I can't move to ColoRADo.

Everyone was looking good. Nino, Brian (aka PUNKBOY), JD, WesE and Eric got faster with almost every run.

Mike Ohm made a quick cameo and laid the fastest time, then the rest of us tried all day to beat him.
Wind was a big factor.
I lucked out and got 2nd, WesE 3rd, Eric Moore 4th, you'll have to ask Wes for the rest.

Post by John Dillon » Mon May 23, 2005 1:37 pm

Like Dan said, the session, though smaller than usual, was twice as fun, despite my last place finish...I was waiting for the wind to hit me from behind...I'm glad u guys came out to make Eric's visit back east all worthwhile...and, man, was he mucho faster. We also had a youngster show up w/fam who was having a blast running every other cone....not bad for an 8-yr old. Way to go Jacob! Thanks Andrew for bringing him out.....GBJ even showed up after work to say hello and to take a parrallel run in his shoes and dress clothes. Way to go, Andy! We all can guess that Slappy was surfing the wind but what about the rest of you slackers?

Rene, you gonna let us know about the show?? Or was that some subtle Canadian humor I didn't get??

What instrument and what genre? Possibly a punk drummer?

Yes, possibly a punk-ass drummer (Me), plus 2 geetars, sometimes playing bass.

It could turn out to be Canadian humor (in a bad way--like Rod Torkelson's ARMADA featuring Herman Menderchuk). I'm reluctant to recommend it to all you hardcore weaned mofos, as it's a bit tame, it's our first show, and may indeed SUCK (it's all harmonies, sensitive vocals and that older, more mature musicianship crap), but TIN ZEROES (that's the band name there was the least disagreement about--I wanted Jack Tars) are playing the black cat back stage with Sylvan Screen June 8 at 9:30. $5 tix.

Music is indie, mid-tempo rawk, some jangly bits, some faster hard-driving bits, some quiet contemplation. Lots of parts. A musical smorgasbord. I will be hitting my syncopated shit as hard as I can.

We will be covering The Scientists "Frantic Romantic", to give you an idea of what's up.

I'll see if I can get off work the 9th, anyone got crash space??

Being a Seismic kind of guy, I have lots of unneeded bushings we can throw.

Unless Brian's mooched them all by then.

PEOPLES.

It's just a crappy show. I hate to see people displacing themselves from states north of the Mason-Dixon just to see crummy lil ole me and two other washed-up skaters. Could be boring as shit. There will be no half-pipe.

Well, I'll buy y'all a pitcher anyways.

Well I finally made it back home last night after ten days of travel. I had a blast skating the park and ride with everybody who came out! It was great to see some old friends again and meet some new ones. A big thanks to everybody who came out and skated, plus a couple special thanks:

JD, thanks again for dinner and for the scenic baltimore tour. Most of all, thanks for getting the skate session organized!

Gilbert, thanks a ton for driving me around and getting me out of the Baltimore tourist traps. I had a great time. I'll be expecting you in Breckenridge! Don't spill your beer!

Til next time,
EM
