6th Annual Adult Snowboard Hooky Day
Why:
Because KMG don't slalom during the winter.
When:
Wednesday, February 09 2005 @ 09:00 AM EST - 04:00 PM EST
Where:
Whitetail Ski Resort
1.5 Hours from DC Just Over the MD/PA State Line
13805 Blairs Valley Road
Mercersburg, PA 17236
http://www.skiwhitetail.com/
Description:
Yearly on the second Wednesday in February, this year the 9th, DC psychiatrist/skateboarder/snowboarder and Surfrider Foundation supporter, Michael Hryvniak, skips work with his friends for some snowboarding at Whitetail Ski Resort. The usual yearly plan is to hit the road as early as possible and get to Whitetail around 9ish on Wednesday Feb. 9th, 2005 for a day of riding. GOAL: 20 runs by lunch. That's been the unofficial group challenge since one of Mike's friends had the crazy idea about three years ago. So far, they have pulled it off each year and lived to tell about it. Nearly empty slopes for the first few hours--that, combined with the high speed lift, is what makes the gazillion runs possible. Also there will be the 2nd Annual Face Plant Award bestowed upon the one with the best wipeout-- Come on out for the fun.
