10th Annual Dovercourt Open / Canadian Championships

Post by Claude Regnier » Sun Jun 30, 2013 12:15 am

After a couple of rain delays and threatening skies we flipped the format and decided to run the GS first. It was the only race we ran today other then resetting some cones and letting the everyone have some fun and practice some. We had 4 newby's this year. Alex V. and Alex P. some first timers with some practice. I am proud to say that my two oldest grandsons gave it a try in big race rather then the kids race that will run on the side path in the park. Neighbors were great and we had quite a crew out watching most of the day. Fir the GS we had 4 runs and took the best time. Here are the results.

On a beautiful sunny day in Ottawa we completed our second day of racing in the Nations Capitol. What another great event!! A huge Thank you to Dovercourt Recreation Center for their continued support. To Mig and Steph for taking turns at the timing table. To all the volunteers and spectators for their support and cones judging as well as some set-up and tear down. Mb Lavoie for all the great work on getting us to race day and through the weekend. We had a few newbies who progressed through the entire weekend. Alex Parent and Alex VanBerkel did awesome. i was very proud of my oldest grandson Dorion for giving it another go on Sunday. Fullbag was our title sponsor for the Nationals this year. A well earned honor as they have certainly been the top Canadian slalom manufacturer and continue to spread their name worldwide!!

Congrats to all the racers that participated and gave it their all all weekend. I will post the National champs in another thread. Here are the results for yesterdays Hybrid which was run in an A & B format complete with eliminations. The Tight was run with only 2 runs and no eliminations.
