7th Annual Dovercourt Open - July 1, 2010

Post by Claude Regnier » Thu Feb 04, 2010 11:18 pm

Just to let you folks know we are planning our event again this year. We need to work out some details of course.

July 1 is on a thursday so the good news is, it's getting closer to being a weekend event again. We may actually add to the day and utilize the weekend this year. Some feedback here would be appreciated.

There may be a few stumbling blocks this year and you will all be made aware as we get more information.

We are supporting the new ISSA and will be applying for a sanction so register and pay your dues if you plan on competing. If our event will be your 1st or only event of the year we will likely collect the fee for you unless we can create a seperate race for non-members or for newcomers.

Enjoy the rest of your winter and see you all soon.

2010 Event!

Post by Claude Regnier » Mon May 17, 2010 11:35 pm

Okay we have the permit for July 1, 2010 for our event (the usual spot at the rec center). Headwind hill is being used as a re-route for a construction project that will not be completed before our race so we are looking for another venue in the same area.

My next doctors appointment is on May 27th in Ottawa so we will go and scout some alternatives but we do need to stay within the Dovercourt Recreation Centers catch basin.

We are also trying to get permission to use the location we hosted the outlaw event in the past. We are also making an attempt at securing the spot we used for the Eastern spring race that included events in Ottawa and Montreal.

So for now we have a One day event pretty secured and will be working on the rest and hope to have confirmation secured in the next little while.

Please forward this information on to other websites as we can not always get them out in a timely matter.

Thanks to everyone. Sorry to say that under my present physical circumstances we may need some extra help setting up tearing down this year so please be prepared to help if you can!

See you all real soon.

Soon TBD!

Post by Claude Regnier » Fri May 28, 2010 9:57 pm

We applied for another road just blocks away from Dovercout which may make it possible to run two races on the 2nd and still try to secure the other spot on the 3rd.

Could be a really nice & faster Hybrid-Slalom and-or dual GS on the smallish side in terms of a big GS course!

Keep your fingers crossed!

7th Annual

Post by Claude Regnier » Mon Jun 21, 2010 10:14 pm

The race is getting near so if you haven’t registered please do so on NCDSA on the contest calendar. Looks like for this year we will a one day race featuring both Slalom (Hybrid) and TS on July 1.

Unfortunately we no longer have the BBQ going on, on the 1st so bring some food with you.

We will start the day off with the free kids race which will give a little more time to set up for the big event.

For those interested we would like to head to Mooney’s Bay on Friday where we have raced back in 03 and enjoy a BBQ, the beach and parkland.

We would also like to talk about our plans for next years events in Canada, EH!

We have the permit for July 1, 2010 for our event (the usual spot at the rec center).
July 1 only so far.

So for now we have a One day event!

Race Schedule!!!
9Am KIDS RACE
10AM Slalom (hybrid)
12nn Lunch
1PM Tight Slalom

Please forward this information on to other websites as we can not always get them out in a timely matter.

Anybody want to split a suite at the conference center - really the only way I can afford to go.

I need to stay at least the night of June 30th, possibly the first too if people are going to hang around for 7/2 activities.

Also - what is the cross street with Dovercourt...I need to print myself some directions.

Thanks!
