[2008] The Rite of Spring at the Fortress

Post by Miguel Marco » Mon Apr 28, 2008 10:20 pm

After all the shovelling, snow blowing, and sweeping last week we decided on monday to have a small outlaw on saturday to go with the "premiere" of the Krispy Hill Racing Team DVD release. Nice way to get the season going... :D

Image

Here's a clip from the DVD: http://www.vimeo.com/948923

22 racers showed up. Most of them locals, but we got 4 racers from Montreal and even one from Vermont. Thanks to Rick Floyd for making our small shindig international ;) :D. Pretty good turn out for such a short notice. We ran 3 different courses with 2 timed runs and practice sessions in each course, all within a 7 hour period.

All pics by Boris Firquet. He decided not to race and fully document the event. Thanks a lot man!

As usual I had the time of my life up there with you guys! You all always make me feel so welcome and comfortable when I visit. Thanks again! Special thanks to Mig for all you do for slalom in general, for the overnight accommodations, and especially the tour of the city Sunday!! For anyone who has never been to Quebec City and is thinking of doing it - GO...it is a beautiful and very cool (no pun intended) place.

Thanks also to Eric Brassard for the toe stop and ice packs - and for your generous offer to stay with your family any time I come to QC.

Great to shake off the rust and get the wheels on the pave again!

Salut! Au revoir pour maintenant!

Nice!

As usual you folks look like you had to endure a terrible day unpleasantness. :)

It must have really sucked to travel that far for that? Eh, Rick?

We sure do miss you guys. So let me know early if you are doing something in late May or early June so I can go cry with you some.

We have a meeting this week and I may be able to make a descision on Dovercourt before the Paris trip. We will keep you posted.
Many Happy Pumps!

It was 3:45 from Burlington...but I'd drive 10:45 for that kind of hospitality! Eh!

If there is anything I could do to help make it happen let me know...phone calls, paperwork, whatever.

Best to MB and the Ottawa crew...even Civ and those Toronto types too!
