Rob and Pierre it's time to try and figure out what the traveling plans are for the G3.

Civ and Mr Brooke are you guys attending do we try to travel together.

There are some offers for acomadations from a couple of people. i have somewhere to stay we don't nescessarily need to stay in the same place. Traveling together may certainally make it more affordable.

Ouch have you seen the value of our $$$$$$. Shit, another .10 to .15 cents since last year.

I'm glad to hear you made the trip to the Gathering. I know how much fun and more you guys had.

It was nice to read the posts relating to your attendance. Way to keep the North going strong.

Seems to me I read somewhere about a Gathering up here. Comments and Feedback are Welcome. Hint, Hint,LOL.

It would be very fun to set a date and place for us canadians and northeasters to meet, i have some great spots in Montreal but i could also travel a bit. PSR is getting something going in VT soon, i sure will try to go.
The Gathering was just too far for my budget, but something within a 3-4 hour drive is what i'm looking for. Would our nation's capital be a good place to meet?

I'll be looking for spots similar to the Seneca Park Location. That is perfect for that type of event.

Af far as some Slalom Pierre, I suggested to Rob (Toronto and Civ is in Hamilton) that perhaps we could try to find somewhere to meet along the 401 around Kingston or something.

I also put a post for PSR regarding something in his area because I'll be going to see TK in the next little while.

Im down for anything as far as ottawa for some racing. the closer the better but Im willing to drive a bit. And Rob would be down to I think. Just got some real cones too.

Civ, if you and Rob want to come down for a weekend I'm possible open until the end of June.

Then I'm pretty much booked (possibly as much as 7 days a week) till August 1rst. with sk8 camps.

Rob has my phone # talk it over let me know. We can arrange for sleeping in the basement or Tents (depending on the weather)in the back yard.

Hey everyone who reads this forum, I havent posted on here for a while but that doesnt mean I havent been on my board all the time. I have gotten together with Rob a couple of time and are planning to ride again tomorrow. I have 3 or 4 friends here in Hamilton that are also interested in coming out for the afternoon. Claude, are you gonna make the trip to the Farm? Rob and I will no doubt travel together, a long drive but it will be worth it. I have TK`s Roe and it feels great, I used the narrow holes to make it a tight slalom machine. I hope im read for the Farm, looks like the biggest Canadian contingent at an American race so far, at least since ive been racing.
Ok, enough rambling, Ive got cones to run.

Yep, I'll be at Da Farm. (unless of course more shit happens. I'm sorry to hace missed G2 and also Boston would have been my 3rd year) OUCH!!!!!!

Anyhow glad you like that Roe. I know I sure did. With the Bottle Rocket and the Bonita I didn't need that one. It's a great board, Enjoy.

Maybe you guys can make it to Ottawa before Da Farm or maybe even in August or Sept. before I leave for Morro Bay.

Pierre and a friend are in Boston and I am sure they are having a great time.

Rob and Civ if you can kame it down here for a couple of days in August we could have some really good sessions. Pierre may be able to make it as well depending on scheduling.

Hey Scott, glad I stumbled upon this thread. There are a couple of us gals, sort of new to longboarding and slalom but really keen, that would be stoked to come out and join you guys if you get some slalom happening in Vancouver. We may be newbies but we are enthusiastic and fast learners.

I hadn't visited this board for quite a while, it seems things
are really taking off. Great to hear that Claude has organized a
race series back east, I'd love to come out there and check it out (Race!)

The weather has been great here most of the winter and I skate
to work on the path next to the skytrain east of commercial dr.

I never did connect with Scott last year, I wonder if he's still in town?

We set up cones on the "judge" several times last year, that's the paved service road that leads off the first switchback on the cypress bowl road just past the works yard. Very fast and very long if you start up at the top but totally friendly if you set up in the middle. Behind a gate so no traffic.

I was stoked to see another vancouver post this evening, so hopefully
we can all meet and run some cones for fun. I know a couple more
women longboarders that are waiting to come out too.
I'll check back later and see if any other vancouver skaters reveal
themselves.

Okay... so alot has happened since 2004. Maybe we should think about organizing a Canadian Slalom organization? Its clear the scene is growing exponentially.

Yes, it's time. The scene out on the West Coast is finally starting to take off significantly and we're going to need some way of organizing races that include all Canadian slalomers. A national body will make it easier (less difficult?) to secure high profile race sites and chase corporate sponsorship for events. Lets talk.

Jeff, the intent has out there for a while. We should work toward getting evrything in place for the start of 2007.

The New ISSA guilines should also come into affect at thiis time. Bottom Line is without getting the World Organnization in place there is nowhere for Nationals Organizations to go. Big Sponsors want to see Universal Organizations in order to best use use their own networks and such.

If everyone in Canada can start to get involved then we can take the steps required to keep things going. We are already planning to take a stab at hosting the 2007 World Slalom Skateboard Championships in 2007.

As I was voted President of ISSA this past February I have been gathering information about likes and dislikes of fellow racers. The goals for this year are to, Increase Membership, re-write some of the rules and regulations (workgroups), be the voice representing individual countries and their scene.

Right now if everyone could take the time to look at the old rules and forward some input it would be great. -http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/ISSA1995 . Kepp in mind that we do not need to re-write the whole thing si mply make adjusment and change to some of the ones that are clearly not suited for todays scene.

If we want an Association we need a Board of Directors as well so we may register everything as well.

How do you see the birth of a Canadian Organization in relation to the ISSA? What is the first step in creating a Canadian organization? I have some thoughts on the subject of a national governing body and would very much like to be involved in the creation of it and the innitial administration of the Western or West Coast part of it.

I'm looking at the ISSA rules and will forward my opinion to you in the next few days.

And now it looks like I might not be. I'm going to decide Tues if the job that's been offered is worth staying home for. Leaning towards La Costa right now even though I'm outta shape and won't have too much training time before the race.

If I do go I'll be in early afternoon of Wed 13th, out early evening Mon 18th.
