I have run timing systems with over 4000 ft of wire (Trackmate and Chronocone). Both worked fine. Ski race systems run with wire over 3 miles long. I don't think we are coming close to the limits, as long as the timer is imune to the noise and the additional capacitance loading of very long cables....

Trackmate cable length record?
I set up my system with 1320 meters to one switch and about 25 meters to the other one. It worked without a problem until the rain came and one of the tapeswitches shortcut. :) Is this the longest cable anybody tried so far? I am interested in knowing about the limit of the system, since we use it f...

Hmm, I have looked at Excelmate now, and it couldn't be easier! I you like, it would be very cool to have that button. :) If you can have it done by the 8th, I'd be happy! Is there some way to automatically group the riders according to the IGSA brackets for the race? If not, maybe it's doable in so...

Just checked the weather for Gothenburg Saturday & Sunday. 60% chance of rain. I hate to put a "damper" on things, but crap..... I hope that weather report changes. How accurate are those reports anyway????? Our own SMHI says +24C and sun on Thursday. They are not always correct, especially this su...

SJ sells tickets for the train.
http://www.sj.se/sj/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=10&l=en
Seems like a ticket is about €75-85 with X2000, which is the faster alternative.

We have a slalom race on the 5th, but even if we are slow, I doubt that we will need more than 65 seconds, hehe. The downhill race is on the 9th, and it will be longer than 65 seconds. Since I haven't recieved the Trackmate yet, I don't really know how it works, and I can't really say if we will use...

X-Caliber board
i recently bought this off eBay and would like to know something about it, and the company. I saw another board that said "Venice, California". Were they made there? I am also looking for a picture of the logo. http://static.slak.nu/files/xcaliber2-640.jpg It seems like everything on it is original ...

From what I heard, they are the same wheel as the Earthwing Superballs. Even though the duros differ in numbers, they both measured out at 80a.

Re: A hard day at work.
If you go to http://www.designmuseum.se/ and then "aktuellt" and "skateboards" you will find a picture with a skater in the air. Search for something to touch and..........there you have it....a hard day at work. Cool video! Actually, we skated in Bildmuseet in Umeå last summer. Not slalom though. ...

Asphalt, 20 feet wide, (two 10-foot lanes) 5% grade, plenty of run out. At least 500 feet of grade and an appropriate run out. (I guess that would seven meters wide and 150 meters long.) Sidewalks. Round curbing (no walls for boards to smash into) NO GUARD RAILS, free concessions served by half nak...

Design of slalom area
We have been given an opportunity to design a slalom area up in the coldness of northern Sweden, and we would like your input on how we should do it. As always, money is an issue. Therefore, we will thread lightly, and only ask for a TS/Hybrid area. What are your suggestions as of lenght and width? ...

Thanks Paul. I managed to set it up eventually, with some help from Dave Rogers. What I initially meant was that I was worried to tighten to much, and wreck the holes. It turned out that if you use your brains, you will manage just fine, hehe. http://static.slak.nu/files/IMG_5676.JPG http://static.s...
