At the Paris Slalom World Cup 2003, May 24-25, the inline skaters will use the same tight slalom course as we do, and the special slalom (or hybrid). It'll be interesting to compare times. I have no idea if skaters are faster than inline skaters or vice versa, but then again the rules are not identi...

Wow, with John Gilmour, Corky, Vlad, Dan Gesmer, 1000 cones, >300 wheels, more trucks than is reasonable for any small town and other equipment all over my office it no longer looks like an office... Luckily they're all off for an afternoon, early evening session at the Trocadero, so I can get a min...

There will be 2 start ramps. 1m high, similar to the FCR ramps. Slight S shape as well. Heavy weight, solid wood construction, shouldn't move. The timing is done by a completely computerized system, thank's to Marcus at http://www.EttSexEtt.com . The computer gives the start beeps and starts the clo...

Bruce, your interpretation of the rules is correct. Do you agree with them? To put a foot down in straight or special slalom will certainly be very difficult, so I think nobody will do it except if they decide to quit. However in giant slalom races such a move could always be attempted and therefore...

The regular Paris sessions are: Tuesday on the Trocadero , mostly a longboarding session, with heavy duty slides and general crusing. Slalom courses are set if somebody brings cones of which there are very few so far. (Soon to be resolved...) Thursday (formerly) Wednesday next to the Charlety stadiu...

We are working on a storage facility for the gear for the skaters. I'm not in charge but I think I saw a message coming by saying that it was taken care off. If not the only safe place will be under the starting ramps. But of course all skaters have access. The whole area is fenced off and each skat...

Time is short in the morning and if you've signed up on the web you don't need to fill out a new form when you arrive in the morning. However you still need to sign it and pay and get your stuff. If you are...

The 1.8 m rule was enforced by the Swiss, who had an excellent ramp mounted on top of a minibus. Most agreed after some arguments and the vote got through. It seemed logical though because we we're often racing on flat grounds, so this was a way to make the races even faster. Today, most races are h...

The strategy of bringing on the race so early this year is to encourage a whole new generation of racers here in France. Most skaters here come from longboarding and are just discovering slalom and realizing that it is complimentary to fast longboard downhill racing and sliding. With these guys fres...

You can skate the hill any day, any time. The only problem is the tourists. Day time there are too many and they are dangerous, unless there are a sufficient group of skaters. The tourists walk any direction, looking in another, and not ever wondering why there are cones in the middle of the street,...

The discipline named Tight slalom is cones in a straight line. That is the only event where the cone distance varies for Pro's and Am's. The course setting of the special and giant will be done on the day, so we cannot predict in advance how they will be. Our experience on the Trocadero is that all ...

Corky, I don't think that there are many of the amateurs that would like to try the 2.0m course.
