Cfavero, what exact date(s) do you have in mind? I can't speak for Goad, but I don't *think* he has any races planned in St. Louis. I'm hoping to do both the worlds and West Virginia, but I'd really like to race closer to home as well.

Bad-ass wood (and fiberglass?)

At La Costa, Chicken also had a couple of these decks (Smokestack, Chicken "Dagger") that had a fiberglass (I think?) layer on the top, and a slight concave as well. He said that if he produces them, they would likely sell for about $10.00 more than the all-wood versions. As with all of his stuff, t...

Giant slalom, but not tight

Mike, your setup is made more for cruising and/or going down hills very fast. Thus, your board is a bit long and your trucks are a bit wide for what most people call "slalom". BUT...don't let that stop you from doing it anyway. If you can link turns, you are already slaloming, in a sense. All you ha...

What wheels?

Lenny, for an all-around slalom wheel, it's hard to beat the white (80A) Turner/3DM Avalons. They're fast and smooth on darn near any surface, big enough for all but the most massive GS courses, small enough to run through all but the tightest TS courses, and still widely available. The only drawbac...

This system worked quite well on the first day of the May 2004 St. Louis race. It was a single-lane course, probably 200 yards long, set on an S-shaped curve. After you finished your run, you coneheaded the bottom section of the course. After the next racer finished, he took your place at the bottom...

Pierre-Yves, Radikal bushings come in the following hardnesses: Clear 75A Red 80A Blue 85A Green 90A Black 95A If you only have two, they would probably work best as bottom bushings, one on each truck. I'd recommend putting the softer red bushing on the front truck (since you will probably ride it l...
