Tway, I'm looking into buying a new system to replace my 20 year old system. Just got some catalogs from Tag Heuer Timing systems and of course they do everything we want, but at a rather high price. Hope you're progressing well with your stuff so that I can buy one equipment in the month to come. /...

This place is so cool. It could become the best slalom spot. The hill is just the right kind of slope, it's wide enough to do parallel races. With banks on the sides it could be even more ultimate as it would allow all kinds of riders to cruise down the hill. This is a great way to revive slalom rac...

This place is sooo cool. Imagine a sunny summer day, smooth concrete all the way down. You've just accomplished a few good runs and you can just sit and enjoy the view from the top of the hill, accumulating energy for yet another run. Actually the best about this place is probably that it will resem...

Russia - Saratov ramps
These ramps were built in Saratov around 1990 (as far as I know). They are high and give good speed on flat ground. Once again, these ramps are heavy and would not move when you pull off. The slope is S-shaped and quite gentle, but with the height of the ramp, beginners might be frightened the first...

Sweden - wooden ramp in Täby
Here are a few pictures of an old ramp we had built in 1978. It was used for quite a few local races until the early 80's. It's primary advantage was the heavy weight so that it would not lift when two racers pulled off at the same time. It also had a convenient transition, although straight, and a ...

France - Pyrenean Adventure Games ramps
These ramps were originally built for the 1993 Pyrenean Adventure Games, where Gilmour, Dunn, Brown and Hickey represented the USA, and Luca Giammarco took top honors in slalom and Hickey was unbeatable in the downhill. The ramps solid construction made them pretty ideal. I'm not sure you can make r...

France - Verrières Open ramps
These ramps were pretty ideal in my opinion. Maybe some ramp beginners will find the slope a bit too steep, but the speed generated was great. Where they are right now is not sure. Switzerland - Tunnel ramps
Here are a few photos of the ramps used in the Swiss tunnel race Nov 2002. Although they pretty well served their purpose and nobody complained about them, these ramps should be considered the absolute minimum acceptable. Extremely easy and cheap to build, they end up being too light for good racing...

These are ramp drawings that were once published in Slalom! magazine. http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/images/Ramps/Ramp_Drawing_S.jpg The S-shaped ramps gives a nicer descent and makes it easier to enter onto the flat surface below. Indiana is a Swiss brand which has been around since the early 90's. Here's a picture of one of their models next to a Fibreflex board for comparison.
