It says at slalomrankings.com that points are only updated at beginning of the month so points from April races won't be added until May. And they would only be a factor if you used the 2005 Season Rankings which try to update/merge last year's points with this year's points. Even a big change in 20...

Why are we qualifying the first big race of 2005 using "points" from 2003 and 2004. In the 4-year ranking, where do 2005 points come from already? I see points for 2003, 2004, and 2005 at that site. Gilmour has been rehabbing. Noah had to take time off last year so his points sufferred. Anyone that ...

Twayster - If you already have a Windows laptop, then getting the hardware to work shouldn't be an issue. I don't know if you need to make any wiring changes to get your things plugged into the ChronoCone box. It's all standard telco connections. I built a modular box that the tapeswitches are plugg...

What's up Tway? I thought the Derby Hill was a fantastic race site, perfect for Head To Head. I never made it to the old location, but I saw some video clips. It looked like a great surface, just not suited for Head To Head. You just need to decide if you want a real (High Profile) annual race or ju...

Radikal Ramps
Jack is going to get them done for La Costa. Originally, Fluitt was going to haul our COSS ramps to La Costa, but now we are going to drive out and bring them back for Breck. Then we will haul them back out for Worlds. Don't know what will happen with them after that. If everything works well, maybe...

Funky Points?
I wouldn't have known about these funky ratings, nor would anyone be arguing about them, if it wasn't put in SLALOM! magazine. That's the real problem. I get the feeling it was all invented in a dark room and published in a sneaky way. Some people in the top 30 like Jani, Stride, Parsons, and Ohm wi...

I guess going forward, having race organizers make bids is good. I hope the assumption isn't that every region should get the same number of points to divide among it's races. I got the impression the 2003 points were not based on bids. When I look at how the contests got divided up, DaFarm and W. V...

Strength of Field
I guess what I see missing is any kind of "strength of schedule". I wouldn't want the whole thing turned into something like college football's BCS system, but shouldn't the strength of the field factor into the classification of the races or the amount of points awarded? Outside of Worlds, Breck, a...

Thanks for the explanation. I guess that makes some sense. It's quite an effort to even try to come up with World Rankings and I agree that attending as many events as you can will help grow the competition levels for all races. Can you explain why DaFarm is a "main" and JPL is a "basic". Both were ...

Hey I just got a copy of the new Slalom! magazine and saw these rankings for the first time. I see I'm ranked 31st, but Fluitt is not in the top 50. Then I look ahead of me and see Mike Ohm at 30th. There is something funky there considering that I personally beat Mike Ohm head-to-head twice at Worl...

Rankings, Points, and Brackets
How are you planning to handle the US Championships at Breckenridge results this year? We are not allowing anyone to declare themselves pro or open. The qualifying times will decide what bracket (A-D) you run in. With this kind of race, the 16th fastest qualifier would complete the A bracket and "ge...

Hey Noah, Have you ridden much *without* big wheels since Worlds? I've ridden 3x since Worlds and haven't even been able to practice for my LA trip. I agree with your observations about Gumballs feeling quicker side to side. I've cut Avilas down to 55mm before, but at that width you lose some tracti...

Gumballs vs. Avilas
I posted on the other site also. I'm not trying to stir up any vendor BS, just looking for some objective opinions on Gumballs vs. Avilas. I am having a hard time forming a solid opinion between the two. There are a lot of variables like surface condition, pitch, and course. And then the wheel chara...

Spare Parts?
Picked up some R2s and need some 25* and 55* angle plates.
I also could use a 80a, 82a, and/or 94a bushing.
Who's got extra soft greens?
Email me if you can help or know someone who can.
Thanks, Chris

Ohm, If you look at the Open spreadsheets for Sunday carefully, you'll see that your time of 20.437 was the fastest in that half of the round of 16. I ran a 19.794 in that same lane. The left (red) lane had a nice diagonal path to the first holeshot haybale gate. A few folks took the opportunity to take a few hard pushes which made for some low times. It was a bit harder to push from the white lane, but some folks did. Fluitt reinjured his shoulder taking a few hard pushes and c...

Super-G in Golden Anyone? I think Fluitt measured the width at 65'. It's about 5 lanes wide. He measured off at least 1700' of good road. We could easily set a 1000' course here. We'll probably break this road in Saturday 4/26. Click Here For More Pics http://skating.creative-bytes.com/slalom/CoorsT...

Hi Tway, So I have to replace my 7-month old timer with a new one or will there be some way to upgrade it?
