Hi Tom. I don't know how to move this topic over to the 3dm wheel forum, so I'll answer here.
You don't want to use hot water, but any mild cleaner like Simple Green, cold water and a scrub brush should do a pretty good job.

No offense taken. In spite of some shortcomings, the TTC did its job well, and I wish I had more, because I get multiple requests every week. It's very frustrating that I can't get the machinist who built them for me to allocate some time to some modifications and new production, but I really don't ...

Yes - the TTC was originally designed for the Indy baseplate, the RT/X baseplate was nearly identical, and we were able to buy them without hangers (not the case with Indy). I've seen two trucks that were drilled straight but slightly off-axis. It's possible that there were others, but I haven't hea...

Rick - the new deck is quite a bit different in construction from the hybrid, and there really isn't anything in terms of feel that I could give you as a comparable. We'll try to get some decks to your part of the world before long - the Byrd's should be the first in the Southeast, though their deck...

Hard to say. We do have a modest roll-in at the top, and the bottom transition is similar to FCR, but otherwise straight. This ramp is a fair bit taller and steeper than FCR, but it's not particularly scary. The FCR "s" transition does provide perhaps a bit better platform for a launching pump towar...

That's the tradeoff when trimming - the thin lip creates a larger contact patch for more traction, but it slows the wheel somewhat and also gives less control when sliding. I will be interested to see how much you trimmed - 4-5mm from the outside lip of the Avilas (none from the inside) seems to wor...

At La Costa in 2001, Henry Hester created an "A pro" and "B pro" groups. The A pros were those who qualified 1-32, and the B pros qualified 33-64. He ran two separate elimination rounds, and the B pro finals ended up matching Hutson vs Skoldberg. It was great. Must be a 18 months ago, Gilmour and I ...

Exactly - the Brown Bomber figured the Avila/Avalon combo out first, and then some of the other riders (Maysey, 2nd pro and Miko, 1st open) followed. It was a great idea, as the taller wheels in front carried speed while providing leverage and drive through the shorter wheels behind. Seems like this...

Bill - The beep start is a great addition - timer should start with 4th tone. If you can also provide an output signal to trigger a gate trigger and a serial output to dump data to a computer, you can completely replace FCR's $10,000 timing system. I've had the opportunity to work with your timer at...

It's a lot more than I would take off. Resulting wheels should be fast but somewhat limited in traction. Also, they've lost the lateral support along the inner and outer walls that would prevent the possibility of some squirming. I think Evans had a more reasonable reshape which took about 10mm tota...

I think we'll leave the Avilas untrimmed for now, since it's not difficult for the racers to modify the wheels themselves.
