Jani, I am not upset at all. I think Paris is going to be a blast(more fun than last year, I hope). I just wanted to make sure there was not any confusion about the challenge. I personally do not like this whole thing, but Mark had posted before I knew about HIS challenge. Mark is a bussiness man an...

Going for my 41st this summer
I started in the summer of 1964, thanks to my older brother(10 years older). Started Slaloming in summer of 1976, thanks to Henry Hester's article in Skateboarder Mag. I just got back from the BLR/Radikal Outlaw Race(what a BLAST and what a HILL) in San Diego. This season is starting off early and l...
Cameron, the front and rear trucks can be fine tuned by adjusting the king pin nut, but not a lot. You should see no more than about one thread above the top of the king pin nut. ANYTHING more than fine tuning should be done by changing bushings. This is why we have bushing of 75A, 80A, 85A, 90A and...

I thnk a senior division is a good idea and 45 is a good age to have it start at. The only problem with starting at 45 is the number of racers. I am 45 and I am almost always the oldest or one of the oldest at a race. 40 might be a better starting age until there are more racers over 45. I know age ...

Jonathan, I am not sure I can answer that question. Bobby did not say why, just that he did not like the way it felt. Since I do not practice very often I have not had a chance to spend time on the rear truck positions. One reason I like the top hole is the truck height. I still think Mark lowered t...

Christopher, e-mail me your phone # and we can talk. I can say 3.5" front truck is a little narrow for a 9.25" board. Mark rides the middle hole on the rear swing arm truck. Bobby and I ride the top hloe only and both of us do not like the way it rides on the middle hole. The lowest hole on the rear...

I think one of the things people try to do with Radikal trucks is to treat them like a conventional truck. This is a mistake. Radikal trucks are not conventional trucks. I have been riding Radikal trucks in one form or another since 1979. I see no need to wedge or dewedge the trucks. Mark and I run ...

Pierre, you might need to do some minor trimming for Tracker trucks. I know a few people who use them on the top and bottom. In my Radikals I like the red on bottom and clear or red on top for the front truck. On the rear trailing arm truck I like black or green on bottom and clear or red on top. I ...

The only trucks you need are Radikal Titanium II Pro Racing Trucks. The front trucks comes at 3.5"(with 1/4" axle) wide and you can go all the way out to 5"(with 1" axle). The rear swing arm truck come at 4.25"(with 1/4'" axle) wide and go to 5.75"(with 1" axle). The axles come in 6 sizes(1/4", 3/8"...

Seth and Glenn, It could be awhile on the 70A bushing. Kryto said they could not make a 70A bushing. They are tring to see how low they can make one. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Seth, Radikal bushings are 9/16", but I sand the flat(not donut shaped side) side down 1/8" to a height of 1/2". It takes just a few seconds to sand. I have a belt sander I use to trim wheels and bushings. If you have any other questions e-mail me at Hollien@mail.ifas.ufl.edu. Later Keith, Teams Rad...

Robert, it looks like you skate surf stance. If that is the case then I have to say the Hollien TS should work well. The wide platform of my series is great for having plenty of room for your feet. The shape gives a lot of leverage for turning and initiates turns quickly. I think my shape really exc...

I taught myself to slalom in 1976 after reading an article in Skateboarder Mag. by Henry Hester. Thanks Henry. I started racing amateur in 1978 and turned pro in 1986 then retired in 1993. I did not run cones for almost 10 years. This past March I came out of retirement to race again at age 43. I am...

The problem with 12 to 12 is that 4 people that came a long way or are working hard to improve do not get to race. It is hard to improve when you do not get to race. I think it is bad enough that some people spend a lot of time and money to go to a race, but do not get to race. Sixteen does not solv...

Hunter, If you skate surf stance I would have to recommend the Keith Hollien TS for TS and the GS for HS. I know this will come as a big shock that I would recommend my boards, but the shapes do work. Take a look at my boards and check Rick "66" post about being in your area T-day. If you have any q...

There is nothing wrong with surf stance with the right board. I ride it and have been slalom skateboarding since 1976, when I taught myself to slalom. It is more what feels comfortable to an individual than anything else. Attaching a piece of wood or whatever to the top of your board is not the safe...

The base plates come in 45* like Gareth said but, the other plate is 35*. You can use either plate with both wings. I ride a 45* with a regular wing in front and 35* plate with a swing-arm wing in the back. For bank slalom I was trying a 45* plate and regular wing in front and back and it worked lik...
