Go to your local bike shop and ask to see their box of chain link spacers. They will fit your axles and you’ll find them in a variety of sizes from 2-8mm. They’re perfect for what you’re looking for. Use them on the hanger side and use your speed rings on the nut side. They’re basically like a norma...

If I had the time, I'd like to learn how to make good videos. Maybe when I retire. In the meantime, lame vids only take about 4 minutes to make.

Excellent! Derek, your job is to make sure TK gets here too. I started priming the pump today. Sorry I gotta miss Gloucester this Sunday, but on top of the other excuses I could throw, that's Christine's birthday. I asked if she wanted to do the bed and breakfast thing in coastal Mass and the first ...

I’d like to host the 5th installment of the Farm Outlaw Series on Sunday, July 17th in New Jersey. The race will be held at one of two locations in Middletown, which is central costal NJ. I’m hoping to get the DC crew and the New Englanders together for a rumble. There’s a great hill at the PNC Bank...

Adam, TK is right. You’re best bet for now is to have your trucks upgraded with 8mm axles and hone your skills and style on ‘normal trucks’. GeezerX can do this modification pretty fast and affordably. For your weight, you’d get just as much grip from an upgraded RTS than you would an offset and you...

Wes, I have the day off from changing diapers, so quit trying to bum me out. Personally, I don’t care about racing next Saturday. I don’t care if there is a timer or not. I don’t care if the day is centered around downhill or slalom. I wanna skate and hang out with friends, so just bring your pretty...

Last year, I think about this time, you guys has a session at Fountainhead (or Occoquan, wherever) on a day with highs expected only in the teens. I opted out because the thought of driving 400 miles to hang out in the woods a mile from my car in the freezing cold with WesE didn’t sound too appetizi...

Any race at Fountainhead would not be a replacement for The Gathering. There will be more official information posted on this year's Gathering later this week, right here, as well as posting to all of the accepted event calendars. GBJ, what's the deal? I know I'm not the only person who needs to pl...

I thought the same thing until I realized: MOST of these guys will spend Valentine’s Day with Rosey Palm. The others have no problem with a 4-5 hour absence in mid-day. For me, these races are 6am-9pm with my travel time. My wife is cool enough not to buy into the Valentines BS. But when she coordin...

C-Blocks
For the last several months, I've been experimenting with different ways to shape my decks. I like to have a little lift under my front toe and I've been trying to find the right thing to wedge under my heel. I feel like it helps initiate turns quicker. I've tried mounds of duct tape, paint stir sti...

* I think * the Gumballs are a little more nimble and manuverable - quicker side to side. But Avilas seem to carry a little more momentum - even when cut down. Avilas make my board feel like a supertanker and allow stronger pumping at speed without too much turn. I think Gumballs have more grip. I h...
