Unfortunately, the most inexpensive is NOT the least fancy. If you have a windows-based laptop computer, the Chronocone software can be obtained for free, and then all that is needed are some video game controllers and your tapeswitches/infrared-sensors. See Pat Chewning about the Chronocone. The le...

Nino, the part of Van Dorn we are riding is in the Franconia/Alexandria area of VA. It’s just about too fast and scary, and with too much large-truck traffic, to be used as a slalom spot. Most of the time we go there just to bomb it. If you still want to join in on a session, let us know you are int...

BTW should someone feel particularly industrious....in your opinion do you think it would be hard to make the software work on a Palm or Windows CE machine....(Not for use at an actual race...but for training and recreational racing) That would kick ass! I just got used Sony PalmOS device and would...

Sunday doesn’t look so bad though for skating. Slalom and various downhill practice are my main goal for this weekend, but I wouldn’t mind beating myself up learning to surf the swell on Saturday if rain is ominous. Will they rent surfboards out during hurricanes? (or does anyone have a board I can ...

Re: Van Dorn
Anyone up for a Van Dorn/Oakwood session this weekend? I am all about hitting up the ‘wood, probably Sunday afternoon, after getting in some crucial pre-Breck slalom practice. Heck, I'm up for hitting OCC sometime on a weekday too (AnthonyS, see if you can get at least a third person who can drive ...

The 1st Slalom Division of DC/DC will be at Das Farm race in CT this weekend and the 1st Speedboard Division will be at TopChallenge in Montreal Canada. Have a good and safe one if you session at the...

Wouldn’t the approach distance make a difference? I think it would. There should be a specified distance, otherwise someone would use this loophole to their advantage (like choosing a spot that has hills at either end). There should be something like a backstop that goes 3 or 4 feet behind the start...

Thanks for the comments, Glenn, Steve, Rick and Dave. LaCosta 2004 GS was indeed one of the gnar-est GSes I’ve run, due to the speed that the hill generated. The hill was so fast, that in the TS, I switched to a board with a slightly longer wheelbase right before a crucial heat, just to feel safer, ...

What happened to "Giving the People What they Want"?
Two out of three Farmers prefer a 2-day event over other formats. Especially when Saturday is on Shady lane and Sunday is on Derby hill.
Is the one-day format someone's insurance of not being smoked two days in a row? :0

I don’t get it. How would anyone expect a 3dm wheel to cone? It’s not going to cone at the side edge because that is not where the hub is located. It’s not going to cone directly in the center because the hub isn’t there either. Softer wheels cone sooner than harder ones. 74a is the softest duro for...

Many ‘regulars’ were absent. So many people in fact that after the longboard duals (which even included a consolation bracket), we just did a single-lane jam session on a nice hybrid course that Brian set. It was a fun afternoon. Kyle Yarrington won the dual longboard race! Good job, Kyle! In attend...

The race for this Saturday is on! "GS" practice at 10am, traditional racing starts at noon. Currently (Thurs, 3:20pm), the weather experts predict partly coudy, 83°F climate for G-burg on Saturday.
