Board guards

Well I do take the time to put multi layers of duct tape on the nose, tail and two bumpers on each rail out of tape to minimize any possible damage.

I'll armor the boards up to survive a shot into a curb- or the ocassional tail drag kickturn- or someone turning a deck on its side.

Always teach locally as well.

I totally agree that you need 2 extra decks for newbs locally..but some guys have like....15 extras. (in some cases...30 extras)

Unless they want to do what I am doing...they probably would be a lot better off with new gear.

that has to be one of the worst unexpected falls I have ever seen. Just for reference what was the thickness in inches and Cm of the wood used to cover the ramp?

I would think you would get a separated shoulder from a fall like that. I hope you are okay.

Pavement was an 11 out of 10

Yeah that Pavement was the best surface I have ever seen used for a race. incredibly grippy tight grained asphalt... Planar- and no paving ridges---what amazing pride in workmanship on that road. I have a shot of Peter Camann at the race... He went right up to the top of the hill and was helping out...

I think tape swtches should be reinforced. I would suggest glueing them to a thin sheet of ptex with epoxy and having a very thin sheet of rubber (less then 2mm) underneath. The switch will grip teh ground without having to conform to the indentations in the road surface so it won't get "mini kinks"...

They messed up the timing, at least in the Vintage. The timer was set to start the lane timers individually, not at the start of the beep. I beat Hollien by some amount to the line but the results showed that he actually had a faster run time. Reason: His time only started when he crossed his tapes...
