I want this Fall/Winter Outlaw series to be bigger than our previous races so I dont want to get off on the wrong foot by having these schedule conflicts. Brian, you didn't create this conflict. Jack, I think we should allow both types. If we're doing single lane jam format, just run 'em all, and sort out the GS vs LS into two groups at the end. If we would do this, it then becomes important to specify AND ADHERE TO a strict axle-axle dimension to define a longboard (over 30" was the old cr...

Backstops or no backstops, doesn't matter to me. I think a racer should be able to deal with whatever starting format the organizer decides to implement. The ramps at the Farm had backstops, only mahogany instead of neoprene. I think that rain dates are a no-brainer; always set a rain date. Your cha...

Vintage race
Having attended all of the Farm vintage races, I enjoyed the 2004 vintage race most. I think the pre-1978 rule helped to emphasize the "vintage" rather than the "race" spirit of the event, and really seemed to increase the level of enjoyment and entertainment had by racers and spectators alike. Extr...

Our DC Outlaw Staff Meteorologist, WesE has spoken. My hotel reservations are made. I'll be there early, with Brian's timer. If more people could show up earlier, it would help to get things moving.

Any farmers have pics of this old skater on the hybrid course? The wife has a digital cam, but she's usually busy with timing and recording and can't take the time for snapshots.

DC Summer Outlaw, August 14th
Just to be clear, the next race at the Gaithersburg Park and Ride is not another Gaithersburg Open event. The next event is part of the DC Summer Outlaw series being run by Brian Parsons. The 2 Gaithersburg Open events were held by the Pennsylvania Slalom Skateboarders to fill in a gap in the DC Sum...

Yvonne, Dan, and I arrived early (8:30) at the Park and Ride to try to get things running before the threatening skies opened up on us. We set the GS course, and had the timer set up before 10:00. At that point, we 3 were still the only ones in the parking lot, and it was starting to look like a 2 m...

Age limits are just another form of copping out. I don't want special compensation just because I'm going to be 49 this year.

Vintage Equipment
Seth,
It is my understanding that the deck, wheels, and trucks must be pre-1980. The bearings, truck bushings, and hardware may be current.
At Da Farm, Hyper stradas were not permitted, but Kryptonic C62's were OK.

And what happens if you roll on a tennisball? I've used the half tennis-ball idea when I didn't have room to take 50 cones on vacation. They work very well.
