Radikal Talons (1/4" axles), clear purple Avilas (from the Purple Skunk, SF), Ninja Abec 7 bearings. I drilled an extra set of holes another 1" to the rear of the stock holes in the hotel room the night before after hearing about how steep and gnarly that hill was. My boxers are still a bit damp fro...

CHIxILL Midnight Special: Downhill Tested to 47.5+mph
Okay filling Oles shoes is not easy to do. He managed to race his Midnight Special at Dixie in all three events; GS, Hybrid, and TS with great success. This weekend in Texas we posted a new speed record on Big View Hill for the deck at 47.5mph. No socks and yes..., in Topsiders. BTW, @33" this was t...

Marty, I use a golf bag with wheels. Mine is a soft style back with side padding and hard base. I think I will switch to a solid case this year though. The fabric does not hold up to the weight of 4 decks, clothes, and other gear, I know Claude and Marty use and seem to like the hard shell golf club...

Ahh, there in lies the secret of the Midnight Special. The real question is "... how did Lavin beat everyone else with no wheels on his board...". I was changing out my wheels getting ready for the not so giant GS and RonO wanted to snap a pic. Then I sliced up my ankle and just fell apart, well not...

Radikal Rear Prototype
As a skater now "reborn" and re-committed to the sport I feel it's important to contribute and share observations about new experiences. Keith Hollien lent me a new Radikal prototype that will be released or GA mid to late February for purchase - I believe the MSRP will be about $155 for the rear tr...

Gary, looks like you already got a 1/4" under that rear anyway. Trish, Richy just gave me an AXE I last weekend at La Costa (spoils of C Div Pump win) - it's wegded as he describes above. I bought the whites about 6 weeks ago and ran them at the Buckeye in GS. Have run them since w/no bearing pops but do have one wheel that is not fully "concentric" (uneven spin - some vibration). It's not bad enough to freak over but none the less an issue and I will not run them competing again (wh...
