I agree with Jack. Both of us would love to skate a 6' TS course but we've got to think about the fun factor for the entire field. It seems to me that there are only about 20 FCR guys that can make it through one, at any speed. At Cambria, there were only about 10. At Stink Hill, we ran what seemed ...

Here is a photo of the start block we used at La Costa 2001, if you haven't seen it on my page. You know, all I'd have to do is run another race to use it again. <IMG SRC="http://www.niteriderdive.com/graphics/startblock1.jpg"> We also put an L-angle behind the rear wheel so you couldn't roll back a...

Jani, If you show up, I'm sure we arrange to qualify together. Don't forget, I'll have the street announcer mic on for added smack all the way down.

More like... <i>"Hey Jani! Wait for me!"</i>

In addition, tomorrow night we are going to do the VO (voice over) for the <i>La Costa Vision GS</i>. I'm sure that there will be much more to discuss, on-screen, once we see the skaters traversing the fall line, falling, spinning out, taking bad lines and all.

IMHO, I find there are basiclly two ways to present GS. One is by setting a course that reaches down the hill and provides a good degree of speed (over 28mph?). The other would be more like a DonO course that would require traction and traversing across the hill. Now... from what I have picked up fr...

Wow, I'm ranked currently at 32nd. That means I've got a man on man with the fastest Friday qualifier (i.e. some hotshot from Europe). Holy cow, looks like short weekend for BadH!

Yeah, I remember one and it hurt. If I had more funding, I could come up with the trick starting gate system, complete with a wheel safety stop, saloon door configuration and christmas tree light system that runs handicap (stagered) starts. One gate opening before the other on purpose.

Here is a photo of my board. It is a Nina Hester Model with Sesimics on the front, Indy Offset on the back The seismic has a wedge the Indy is mounted with a small flat block. Like my friend William, I have found that the Seismic can be ridden in all events with no problem and I confir with all his ...

I like the large displays with neon bulbs. Timing and getting the numbers message out quickly is the key to our sport becoming exciting. Brigg Sherman made a very usable scoreboard out of metal, light bulbs and black paint.

Good comments from JG, a real thinker. I agree with everything he says although I have a hard time "pushing and setting" just as others might on the ramp trannies. We are not that untechnical to incorporate the wheel-stop with the gates. I really like a double saloon gate over a swinging door as I h...

Jani, both the trap door and the wheel gate completely do away with false starts. In fact, other than a gate bashing attempt, we haven't seen a false start in a year, thanks to new technology. My beef was the gate being so high that you can actually get hurt if you "jump the gun" and get mixed up wi...

I feel totally qualified to post here on this subject. I've had plenty of gate starts in my career, I created an option and I've been hurt using the current system. You guys know me. I've been a promoter of a wheel stop (like La Costa 2001) for the past year. I've seen too many people get hung up on...

Adam2, looks like a good format. Hopefully we will see Arab soon. NCDSA is still a good place to be but these forum breakdowns, including a yap section about board companies and wheels is totally rad.
