The downhill event is more like a few runs on the hill at intervals, not a true downhill and not a very technical hill either. try UKGSA.org for more details on that event. Other races would do well to do the same for racers I think? Whilst wai...

I am currently making a 'tone' box. put simply you can configure the time beween 'beeps' so that you can either create a 'random' gap, or setit to give a consistent gap. Basically this uses a circuit that light 10 leds at 1 second intervals. This will provide a 'common start' on the final beep. I al...

Some initial rules are now posted on the website:
http://octanesport.co.uk/cadwell.html
These will be added/amended as needed.

You can download our start beeps so you can get used to the cadence. These generate a random 5 second beep window when combined with an MP3 player.

"photo finish" indicator system- home built.

One of the most fun races we had this year was a dual race, with no timing system. First cros the line won, maximum 3 cones, with NO cone penalty. Hit more than 3 and your out...... This led to a lot of close finishes, so I have come up with a system that 'locks out' the winning lane and indicates i...

The screen only (four digit) is 317 dollars plus shipping. from gunfighter.com. You need to plug in start / finish gates through a 'y'connection. Very simple. The four digit will show 1000ths up to 9.999 secs and then 100ths after 10 secs, ie: 10.28 which is ideal for our purposes. Today we used it ...
