Back in the day, a field snare drum sounded like it had some balls. Now, they tune em up so tight they sound tinny and thin, but the rebound is much greater so the drummers don't have to work so hard.

So, if pushing with your hands is possibly OK, how do we feel about hand-criddling, or should we call it "handling"?

Sheesh,
I thought maybe I had a good day. But seriously, folks. The winds were kicking up last Saturday; sometimes up the course, sometimes from the side. I'm sure that someone of Wes' body weight is much more affected by wind resistance than some of the more, shall I say, aerodynamic, of the DC crew.

Well, we finally got some cooperation from the weather, and had some good racing Saturday at the Park and Ride.

Brian P was still recovering from a bout with the flu, but showed up and did a great job. Thanks Brian. Hope you're feeling better.

I agree with Curt. 30" axle to axle seems to be a good length, and a lot of skaters have already purchased decks specifically to fit this requirement. I think that's an excellent idea. Might there also be some other structures that could be used? I'd guess that the Metro stations would be a 10 second bust, but with all of the transportation infrastructure in the DC area, would there be some tunnels that might work?
