Yea, Paul, we're still recovering from the 12-14+ inches of rain...more rain than fell from Hurricane Agnes in 1972. Two of the three roads I can take to get to my office were flooded and closed. I was using a big fire hose to clean debris from the walkways and parking lots at Bladensburg Waterfront...

The Arlington skate session was a good but hot one...just myself & 2 others. I guess slalom is dead in DC(hopefully I'm wrong, though). The solo slalom session was brief. I headed home since nobody called to join me....next slalom session is in the Baltimore area.

I echo what lbk said about The Gathering. Andy, I remember the 1st one and trying out other people's boards while wearing velcro Vans shoes. I had a blast. You set the seed for slalom's rebirth and it has grown well. There are slalom events all over the place now and that's a great thing to see happ...

It's official...so get your racing Halloween costume ready as you must race in costume....there WILL be a 10-second penalty if you don't race in costume(and you cannot race as yourself,even if you are scary looking). for you, J-Rad....for the costume contest one must roll past the judges on a skate, luge,buttboard, 8-wheeler,etc.....but for the actual banked park slalom, you may wear a different costume....but definitely one that you can wear and skate...it's all for fun, anyways!
