I Can't Take It Anymore.....

Well, after a short lived retirement from skateboarding, I think I'm going to come back. The knee and leg is still shot to hell, but I am going to use my winter to do some training and fix my knee up good. Any words of encouragement or advice??

I find having big feet to be a disadvantage in slalom. Try to find a board that you can fit your feet on, yet be able to push through cones. My favorite type of slalom is either flat, or very very mellow incline, S-curve 6 foot between cones. Very rhythmic and very groovy.

Ive only been slaloming for almost a year, and I love it. I only with i started earlier.

Besides from 12 oz curls, thumb training on the remote, and fridge walking, I weight lift. lots of squats, lots of dead lifts, weighted trunk rotations, preacher curls, pullups, and lots of stairs.

i rock out on the drums to some drum corps stuff but thats about it. otherwise i'm a guitar/bass/piano/tuba player. but i always have the cadets street beat playing in my head when I slalom. does that count?

Thanks Adam. Special thanks to HerbN from Skatewerks in Jersey for laying down the carbon and glass for me. Besides the carbon and glass on the bottom, there is wheel wells long enough for the original wheelbase and a second wheelbase drilled about a half an inch back.

Rick, I love tight slalom, I think its all about pushing the limits of how quick and tight a skateboard can turn. When I ride my regular slalom board, its 5.5 ft to 6.5 ft all the time. I just got a steet deck for longboard slalom. Its a 42" Road-Rash with some nice cut outs. Its pretty stiff, but I can pump it pretty nice.
