Most of you know George Pappas. He had two 1st place finishes in the last couple of weeks, in Morro Bay (hybrid) and in Hood River (TS).
George needs to get to Sweden to represent the U.S. and take his stab at the World Championship title. Fluitt's timing system up for sale
We've got three timing systems in COSS, and I don't use mine so much anymore. $150 for the clock, or $450 buys a fully race ready 2 lane system with (4) 3' tapestrips, 1000' of wiring, hose reel, junction boxes, all labeled and ready to go. This clock captures false start in both lanes, tone start o...

Donald is spot on with his recommendation. Double nut the hanger side of the axle, remove the nylon lock nut that is stuck on the wheel side of the axle, then double nut the wheel side of the axle to remove the double nuts on the hanger side of the axle. Reinstall the axle into the hanger with lock ...

Paul, Understood. The bearing trucks (that I know of) have all been done in the Splitfire factory. The hanger was bored to fit the bearing, then the bearing was pressed in, and glued in place with locktite. I wouldn't recommend this modification @ home. The precision with which you need to bore the ...

Chris,
At first I thought that was a rear Split you had on the front, but then read your specs and figured it was a Randal Comp base (60). That's actually a great set up. Pretty hard to get off the crack (err Radikal Front). Anyway- good meeting you at OhiO.

Interesting discussion here. It's true there are a few bearing-loaded splitfires out there *in testing*. I will not divulge who is using these, but they are on the podium regularly this season. On my TS board in the front I'm liking Evan's idea. A 3" kingpin with a shaved stim underneath and two bushing on the top of the truck (thus the 3" kingpin). on top I run a clear radical and a conical white khiro with no insert. This combo works well for me. Very turny and supple. Some guys have the...

Wes, It's a good idea to use a washer down at the bottom if you want the rear steering to be a little more "dead". By eliminating the washer, I find it's a bit more resilient. But not everyone likes a resilient back end (OK, no pun intended). I do not use a washer on the bottom of the front truck ei...

Did you buy a Green Turner Cutaway in 2001?
I think it was 2000 or 2001 that Jack Smith suggested I sell my old Turner Cutaway on ebay. It was a complete, with a Gull Wing split axle in front, and an Indy in back, with Pink and Green Kryptos. The deck was Green. I know that it shipped to the East coast. Jack long since lost his ebay account f...
