It's not as hard to throw a race as you might think. I had no clue what I was doing last year when I stepped up in front of the Breckenridge Chamber and spewed about how great slalom is. You've got to be persistent, and organized. You've got to produce documents like "Road Management Plans" and "Res...

Jack - We need a rule of thumb on the round of 32. When we have over 50 racers (a la La Costa where we had 100) we go to a round of 16 straight away. There's just not enough time to qualify that many racers and do all the brackets. When we 50 racers , there's no need to pare it down to 16 so quickly...

Adam, Good for you man, racing in your first FCR race. Hope to see you in many more. The phenomenon of racing so much faster in head-to-head racing proves that slalom is so much more mental than we give it credit. I was in Paris 10 months ago and I went to the Trocadero to check it out. It is indeed one of the most perfect venue's I can imagine for a race, except for the run out. I think that would be a foot drag stop, but not too bad. My guess is the pitch is about 5-6%. Much like Avila in the US. An easy wa...

I like everybody's ideas. I like the major/minor thing, and I like Hans idea about limiting the number of races one can count. John has some good points about how to encourage racing. The use of "FCR ranked racers" to qualify a race for it's level of competition is a flaw for sure, but honestly, it'...

Dual courses are always slightly different, one being faster than the other. I think that's your point Brady, no matter what you're going to have different courses.
