You do realize what is at stake here, right? A decently run event paves the way for us to use soapbox derby hills all over the country. I tried to get this done for about 2 years and got nowhere. Yeah, the timing sucks, but perhaps the IGSA can be persuaded to push the date out a bit next year.

It is true, Antrim has removed its bid for the WC, and has been given a tentative OK to run the US Nationals. It will be on our traditional weekend in the middle of September. More news to come once we get the official word from the BOD.

My point John is we've got big hills all over. Closing them to traffic is the issue. In Austin it cost almost $1000 to do so. Other places its just not possible. I'm glad you are involved and interested, but am not sure about where you are expending your efforts.
